This is for Christians. Only 30 entrants allowed and only a 1 week time frame. I MIGHT add another week if more entries needed.
I believe that most Christians read the New Testament and don't know a whole lot about the Old Testament SO....
I want poems about Jesus as spoken of from the Old Testament. Just what does the Old Testament say about Him? Search it out and find them! Is He God in flesh form? Was He there when God created Earth? Was it Him in the Lion's den with Daniel? You can relate the Old Testament scriptures to the New Testament ones if so desired.
Provide the scripture used in your author comment section. Please don't jump around and use a bunch of scriptures, it's easy to take things out of context that way, coming to a WRONG conclusion.
Do NOT submit a long poem. It is VERY hard to keep my attention while reading ANY poem. I usually stop reading half way through if it's long. Long poems I most likely will not finish reading.
You can enter one time. If you find that you just have to enter twice IM me and tell me why.
There will be NO prewrites. This is my FIRST contest and I want it to be fresh. I want to see effort and study going into this poem of yours!

I WILL CRITIQUE EACH PIECE. If you wear your feelings on your shoulders DO NOT enter this contest. I will not be giving 'this is nice!' comments! I will judge this contest in fairness because I have NO favorites at this site.
Points will be given to 2nd and 3rd place but I don't know how much yet.

This sounds like a challenge. I am working my way through the old test. again and it is difficult in some areas for me. There are many references to Christ though and I will be interested to see the entries. A creative idea. Good luck with your contest!

When i read the contest I got a bit confused lol. I thought Jesus in the Old testament was a bit of an oxymoron, now I get what you meant.

there is parables in all through out the bible, teh mnost clear would be, Isa. 53, or in Joshua, where it talks about the comander of the Lords army in flesh form, now there is many upon many parables, and everything int he old testiment points towards Christ, I might enter this one, if I have time.
