haiku-o-matic

UPDATE

Total amount of entries I'm accepting now is 400, with maximum 5 per person...
Otherwise the contest will be closed too quickly

So off course, it'll take some time for me to read, comment and then judge them all... you'll have to be patient

Ah yes, While I'll keep on going further with the What do you see series, I decided to have yet another haiku contest

I just want to say that haiku isn't just counting syllables. it's a whole lot more then that!
Give me haiku with an AHA-moment and I'll be happy. If you give me crap however, then there's quite a big chance I will tell you while commenting, so be warned.
If you are sensitive and can't handle the fact someone says his honest opinion about your haiku, then stay out. If you think you can handle it, then please join

haiku are about nature, have a maximum of 17 syllables, structured as 5-7-5.
you can also go contemporary, then you go out of the nature scene. It isn't really of importance how many syllables you have and where, as long it is maxed at 17 in total and in three lines.

if you need an example -->  allpoetry.com/Poem/1588578

Regular rules, so no stickies, no all caps, no every word caps, no erotica, no bashing.

I only want ONE haiku per entry (no chains)

You can enter maximum five times, prewrites or new writes, I don't care... maximum five entries per person.

This contest will close after 3 days, or when there are 400 entries, whichever comes first. (I doubled the maximum amount of entries since this is going to be filled quite quickly)
All the points will go to the winner, and there will be no additional trophies.

I will comment on the poems when the contest is closed for entries.

good luck to all

Remember: Don't tell me, just SHOW me!

Well... Nice contest! Haiku's aren't my strongest point but I've written a few before, but they kind of went wrong Seems to be you're heading down the route of being haiku mad! ( Only joking ) Have tons of fun with your contest

Leander, I had to smile at Anna's comment above..."leraar" . I know the two of you are Dutch-speaking. In Afrikaans "leraar" means a minister of a church!! man you are strict, but that is sooo right! Your contest pages always look great. I'll see if I can enter a new haiku too - time I right something AHAAAA!! Good luck with this contest, my friend.

400 entries + 400 comments + being a greeter + being a teacher = one very busy person that needs to take a nice long break if possible
