2. you are a cat that is trapped in a drain pipe. tell me about it.
3. your computer crashes. you have lost all your research for a huge term paper. show me your anger.
4. describe the color green without saying "green" or any variation thereof (i.e. turquoise, blue plus yellow, etc).
5. tell me what you want for your birthday without actually saying it.
6. find an atlas, turn to a page and point to a city or country. make an acrostic from that city or country's name.
7. Convince a vampire to let you live.
8. What does the sun smell like?
9. You are alone in a library after dark, the doors are locked and there are rumors of ghosts. tell me how you feel.
10. Tell me what an orange feels when you peel it.
no prewrites as these subjects are probably not already in your repertoire (is that spelled right?), no cutting, obvious suicidal, etc -- questions, please please ask, no outrageous cursing without warnings (kids are allowed to enter, they're usually very creative with this type of challenge!)
have FUN.
You don't have to comment on my works (since i have none posted at the moment, duh) and you don't have to comment on rannilt's works (cause she's donating pointage and helping me judge this sucker), but commenting other entries helps people edit and change up their stuff a bit. constructive criticism is AWESOME -- not "hey i don't feel it" but more like "wow this line is great because of the pitter-pat feeling it evoked in my head" ya know.. helpful stuff like that.

Dude, don't be bitter about it. Do you have any idea how hard it is for the judge to try and award the three he/she likes best??? The trophies/HM's were handed out based on that one person's opinion. If you're going to take that one opinion as a slight against your work you should a) not enter contests, and b.) stop writing.
C'mon.
And just so you understand my unbiased opinion here: I had no input on the judging. I'm just here in case I'm needed. Apparently my job is that of peace-keeper.

Right, I should refer you to my comment above, about how a contest is run and judged based on one person's opnions, but you have irked me, and I do not feel like dealing gently with you.
First, buy your stupid self a dictionary. It's RIDICULOUS, not REDICULOUS.
Second, you can't even take the time to ascertain the gender of the judge, let alone his/her poetic preferences. That presents a double standard. At least Emily commented on your poem.
Third, if you have such a high and mighty opinion of your work, run a ME-FIRST contest and award yourself the trophy. Just because you're "hoping for a trohpy" doesn't mean that your poem exemplifies the qualities being asked by the judge, and certainly does not mean it is the best work on the site. Other people enter contests. Some are better than you are. Deal with it. If you are not (as I suspect you aren't) God, you'd better be prepared for some people to show you up sometimes. Learn from it, don't b!tch about it.
May I again disclaim that this contest is run on the principles and opinions of its host only?
Speaking of opinions, here's mine: you need a healthy dose of 'get-over-yourself'.

it is possible to remove a piece from the contest and write a new one that fits the options. thank you for entering your piece, it was a good one, but it did not fit with any of the options offered. if you wish to enter another contest in the future, you may want to read the contest in its entirety, don't write to make others happy per se, but do follow the instructions if you wish to have a good chance of competing at all. -
