Contest Write in a new form: Monchielle by poetryalityEdit

Description & Prompts

I just want to know one thing. Are there 30 adventurous/advantageous poets on AP that are ready for a real challenge?

Well, if so; there are 30 SPOTS OPEN in this challenge.

My new found friend, Starhiker has created a new form called Monchielle (named after his adorable wife).

Here's an example:

allpoetry.com/Poem/1694407

Here's a column that explains how a Monchielle is written.

allpoetry.com/Column/1616570

Here's my example:

Finality (Monchielle)
by abstract dreamer

When my life is over;
With the last breath I take-
Rice paper wings will spring,
Beaming from my spirit.
With heaven's hosts I'll sing.

When my life is over
I'll be soaring above.
Do not weep long for me.
Away from worldly harm
Finally, I'll be free.

When my life is over,
And this sojourn is done-
A sweet peace will overwhelm.
There will be no more pain...
Christ seated at the helm.

When my life is over,
And my mission is thru
With words I sit, and write
Bethink my random thoughts-
Though I be out of sight.

So, if you want to try something new, and are not intimidated by form poetry, here's a challenge for you.

Because I want young people to try their hand at this form I will;

Your poem must follow the rules of Monchielle.
NOT allow any adult content or profanity.
One entry per poet, no prewrites allowed.

No more than 30 entries so, HURRY!

400 points & GOLD - 1st Place
200 points & Silver - 2nd Place
100 points & BRONZE - 3rd Place

NO Honorable Mentions (Sorry) - All will receive applause just for being brave enough to enter this "new form" challenge.

Me and Starhiker will comment on all entries.  I will comment once the challenge is closed.  Starhiker may comment at any time.

You have until the 30th of January or so, make it good.

HAVE FUN!

    Hi Cassandra,

I am sorry that I did not change the 15 entries at the bottom of the page for this contest. At the top I edited it, and made it 30. I wish you had seen that. We would not have been mad. Next time I hold a contest I will keep you in mind and alert you. Sorry! Thanks for even considering the entry. Please do try the form anyway.

Hi, Catressa! You managed three stanzas out of four? That is good if you had a hard time writing in this form! If you manage to finish it before the contest closes, I'd be thrilled! If not, send me a link to your poem, and I will comment and critique it anyway. Jim

Well, it was 15 in the start, but we increased it to 30, because of the speed the entries came in... For the rest, I leave that to you, Renee. Jim

So which is it, 15 or 30 entries? Lol, why haven't I heard from you Mommy? I im'ed you what I needed help with and figured you hadn't been on, but I saw that you've posted stuff. Where's my Mommy! I miss her! I'm gonna havta check out the instructions to this form, cuz new forms are always fun, but I'm definitely rusty. I haven't written a poem in ages.

I hope so too. I just posted it, and so far there is only one entry so, there may be room left. I only asked for 15 entries because my schedule is very busy right now as well so, I do understand. Hope you get a chance to enter.
