I am looking for reasons you believe in God.
What I am not looking for: because I do, that is the way I was raised, etc.
Explain to me why you believe. Make me believe.
Rules:
*Good grammar a must. Use spell-check and grammar-check, if you have it.
*Positive thoughts. This is not a place to complain about why you do not believe.
*No stupid chat or web lingo.
*NoNe Of ThIs.
*One entry per person.
*I do not mind giving a warning for infraction of the rules, but I will disqualify anyone after that.
*Do not write anything stupid in your comments, nor are your required to read anything else, although reading and acknowledging other entrants is good sportsmanship. I will not be checking.
This is a plain and simple contest. One topic. That is what I want to see. Anything else should be entered in a different contest.
This contest is about God! Not your personal god, or the fact you believe you are a god, or any of the rather esoteric manifestations man chooses to reflect God. It is about God, the real one, the historic one, the one everybody is so anxious to deny. I want to know why do you do not deny Him.
Final notes:
I closed this early due to the number of entries. I was overwhelmed by the response. Usually I get about five or ten entries, so thank you for that. On Thursday, I awarded points for entering the contest. If your entry was still here, you got points. If not...well, you pulled it and it is too much trouble to track you down. Thank you all for your entries.

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on January 25, 2006
- Rewards: Gold: 300
- Final notes: Well, I had to read through a lot of entries. I will admit that most of them did not even come close to answering the question: Why I Believe". Some were hard to even figure out what they do believe. I think that believing in God means that you must defend your beliefs. You must be able to tell the person that questions why you believe. If you cannot defend God, how do you expect Jesus to defend you before His Father and argue a defence against your sins? A good deal of what I read here was uplifting and nice, but you did little to defend God. In the war with Satan, what do you choose as weapons?
I ignored no poems because of form or grammar. Some were very hard to read because of errors. So, this time, my judging was solely based on content.

I do not know if you exist, but today I shall speak the truth, for I have faith. For years, I have debated on the topic of your existence. Finally, I• Commented on by judge. -

this is a wonderful WONDERFUL Idea for a contest.. I admire it... I couldn't write anything fresh so I entered a pre-write.. I don't know if it's up to your standards but it's the reason why I believe... well not even half of the reason... but it's the reason I... well nevermind!
God bless,
~Amber~
~good luck judging the contest~ -
As someone once told me, we are fortunate enough to be raised in a christian enviroment. We are fortunate enough to live in an enviroment that is the true religion. I wrote an essay on this, which I don't think will apply, but if it does tell me, ill enter it. Its called "My Perceptions on Christianity". I also wrote a poem called "Jubilee" about God. My reasons for believing in God are that he could not have blessed me if He didn't exist. ~James

I really do not think your comment has any bearing here. You may post it elsewhere.
