Word Association - Contest

Having recently found that I could kick my muse into action with one word as inspiration,
I thought I'd try that idea for this contest.

I'm also a member of The Legitimate Contest Holders group
(you can check the link to see what we're about)

Ok,  you have 3 words to choose from for inspiration --
positive, negative, neutral or funny:

# 1

Be original...
but, as much as I like this self-explanatory animation,
please don't post it on your poem... it'll drive me nuts

# 2

No clichés please --
its use, misuse and effect in interpersonal relationships interests me,
but whatever it suggests to you.

# 3

Love this one, Emily Dickinson used it in a poem too
[click the link to read it]

For those who'd like a comprehensive online dictionary reference
I recommend bookmarking this site

GUIDELINES:

You may...
.
Submit up to 3 entries per person, but each entry must be on a different word
. Use all three words in one poem, but will count as your  3 entry maximum
. Use the word in your poem,  its variants or synonyms
. Write any form or type of poem you do best, except epic (I prefer under 25 lines)
. Put the word you used in the poem description (under the title)

NO prewrites, sorry,  I want your spontaneous responses to the words provided.

NO adult categories: erotica, abuse etc. (will be removed)

NO gratuitous profanity (same as above)

NO cutting, violence or ideological rants

NO sticky caps or unintelligible lingo

NO unreadable text & background colour combinations

NO misspelling or grammatical gaffes (me judge, no Tarzan wannabes  - except for intentional humour )

I will...
. acknowledge receipt of your entry by IM, but only comment after close of contest.
. read all entries and comment on at least one (or best) of  your 3 submissions.

   Gold: 500
 Silver: 250
 Bronze: 125

Honourable Mentions & points for same to be announced

NOTE: The "critical review invited' option on the 'add a poem'/edit page is no longer automatically checked, and the position has changed to just under the text alignment tab.
It now has to be manually checked if you want a 'critical comment'.
So, if you want a critique from me at close of contest, don't forget to check that box.

Last word:  If you should receive
any award from me but don't believe in saying thank you because you think it is your 'divine right' to win, I'd advise you to avoid entering any future contests of mine.
Yeah, I like good manners - I'm funny that way

Will close after 35 worthy entries

LOL, took me a while before I could make out the first word and by the time I got it right, it took me another while to get my eyes straightened
Compliments on your very nice presentation of this contest.

I stink at poems...never stops me from writing though. Well I will see what bizarre idea I can come up with...it is no fun unless I do something odd.

I'll be a poltroon if I don't enter. At first I thought you wrote, quadroon, which would have had its own challenges.
Silence: The quiet among people when I walk in the room.
Ambiguity: The looks on their faces at such a moment. Poor me, lol.

I can't see them. All I get are big red X's. I suppose I could write about the big red X's, but I don't think that's what you want.
