I cannot express how much all of you encouraged and lifted me up during Satan's excruciating attack, and you continue to support me today while still recovering. God heard you loud and clear! You warmed my heart when I was chilled, soothed the terrible pain, shared my anger at Lucifer, urged me back to writing for our Lord, and you still encourage me to keep on keeping on! There are not enough points in the world to truly convey how much each of you means to me: just know that you are my heart!
There are others here at A/P that left messages on my author page and some who sent IMs. I wish there were enough points to have included them in this contest. Nevertheless, each of them make up my heart and have my eternal gratitude! Hopefully, one day I can hold a contest for them.
Patricia, aka pattyann4500, is collaborating with me and donating a ton of points to combine with mine: she, too, wrote a prayer for me, called numerous times checking on me, sent dozens of lilies AND mailed a copy of each of your poems to my daughter so she could read them to me when I couldn't; but, Patricia was hosting that contest. So, since I want to show my love and gratitude for her, as well, I include her prayer/poem, along with my AMEN— now, feast upon her exquisite dessert, then click on the link below its title and give the poem a review and applause. . . pleeee--ase
A Beautiful Soul

A loving friend and beautiful soul
Is waiting at God's door.
She knocks and knocks patiently
For the door to open to her.
"God is not ready," the Angels say,
"It's His call, not yours."
Do as the doctors say for now,
And He will call in time.
We may beg, and we may pray
For a life to be saved,
But it isn't up to us to say
Whether she stays or goes.
Those of us who truly know God,
Know that she's in His hands.
If we know what's really awaiting her,
We'd pray for her to go.
That beautiful light is there for her—
Angels hold it for her to see,
And when her time has finally come,
She'll happily cross on over.
For now we'll hold our vigil for her
And hold our candles high.
Whatever God's choice will be for her
We will rejoice in His beautiful Will.

CONTEST OPTIONS
BonnieQ offers the first option and Patricia offers the second; which, by the way, is really an awesome category. Prewrites are allowed, but ONLY if it fits one of the following two options. Please note in your Author Comments which category you have chosen to write about. It is our hope there will be entries filling both alternatives:
1. Your Testimony share a poem about an adversity God has brought you through and share some of the blessings He rained upon you when you walked out the other side of that trial. Sharing testimony always helps others to know they are not alone and it can inspire them to lean on Christ's strength, for we have none of our own. You've all read many of BonnieQ's and Patricia's testimonies, so you know what we want here: YOURS!
2. Scripture "The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant." —Psalm 25:14 AKJV
Write a poem about what the above scripture says to you; OR, if you've been blessed with God's understanding, write a poem about what He means, what are His mysteries and secrets, which will necessitate reading other scriptures. Note those by reference only in your Author Comments.
-----------------------
RULES
1. Only one entry per person! Appropriate entries by those not invited will remain in the contest for others to read but will earn only applause; entries that are inappropriate will be promptly removed.
2. Author Comments: enter option preference and add any scripture references applicable to option #2 if chosen.
3. Obviously none of these special entries will include lewd and/or foul language, erotica, chat speak, or ThIs SoRt of ThInG, and will have been spell checked. Right? Of course! Because all these special people know the Lord and wouldn't dare offend Him.
4. Prewrites are allowed but only if it directly relates to one of the two category options.
5. While it's not a requirement, it's always nice to read and comment on the work of your fellow writers: as many have said before us, this is a community and we should support one another.
6. Don't forget to click on the link to Patricia's poem, give it a review and applause! and, now for God's perfect number
7. Know that you are very much loved! Only God loves you more!
-----------------------
POINTS Everyone wins! We wish there were enough trophies and points to simply award everyone the gold! So, please know that we consider all entries gold winners. After all, in loving the Lord and using your talent for Him, you all are gold winners in His eyes! That said, we shall divide up 3100 points as follows:
Gold — 500 pts
Silver — 400 pts
Bronze — 300 pts
Remaining 19 entries — 100 pts each
----------------------
CLOSING DATE This contest will end two weeks from date posted, OR as early as our last guest arrives and enters. Patricia and BonnieQ will comment on poems as they are entered and, in the end, both will determine trophy winners as rapidly as possible and just as quickly get points out to everyone! Whew! Right now, rapid and quick are wearing me out! Slow motion is better. Still, we are very excited and hope you are, too!
Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on December 22, 2005
- Rewards: Gold: 500
- Final notes: Patricia and I both found judging this particular contest to be exceptionally difficult; mainly because, ALL of you are gold winners; if for no other reason than by virtue of allowing our Father and His Christ voice through your golden pens. Still, we had to pick a few for the big points, although each of you deserves them all!
This has been particularly hard for me, in that all of you have been so supportive of my writing, and me, but even more so during my recent experience with a brain aneurysm. I truly wish I'd had enough points to simply give each of you the gold, for you all are gold in my eyes.
As it is, Patricia donated a whopping 2000 points to my cause! She deserves a standing ovation on a ton of her exquisite poetry. Might you do that? And, she chose the scripture for Option #2. Oh! How I would love to have responded to that one! Alas, we had only two entries for it and chose one for the silver; albeit, both were great. As Patricia had noted, it is a difficult verse for most to respond; for the depth of it is exceeding.
Now, because not all of our invited guests made it to this party, Patricia and I have decided to do these awards just a bit differently than first planned:
GOLD WINNERS
Sandy aka Frogsters40 – 500 pts.
Joanne aka thelordreigns – follow the link below to find out!!!
SILVER WINNERS
Karen aka pentopaper – 400 pts.
raspberry – follow the link below to find out!!!
BRONZE WINNERS
Beth aka SexyAngel0418 – 300 pts.
Vickie J – follow the link below to find out!!!
Renee aka abstract dreamer – follow the link below to find out!!!
Sam aka Samplette – follow the link below to find out!!!
Now, since a contest only provides three trophies, we would like for Joanne aka thelordreigns, raspberry, Vickie J, Renee aka abstract dreamer, and Sam aka Samplette to transfer their entries to Round II of this contest: where we will award the above noted points AND three more trophies! Just FOLLOW THIS LINK and enter your entries there as a prewrite—Entries [8]

God Bless you, me and All
This is a beautiful poem by pattyann4500 and this is so true that we should rejoice by validating and appreciating those we love while here and rejoice when God calls them home. Saying, "Hallelujah! As we love our loved ones and our loved ones love God and God loves we so will God love our loved ones and we who cross over (with open arms)." God Bless you, me and we always. Thanks for honor to be asked to participate in this celebration of love. With love, SEA.

Hi Karen. I'm so sorry to hear that you have had your own health dilemmas to deal with. I certainly understand how a surgery can keep one from doing things they love. I cannot imagine how it must have been for you to have to deal with three. I hope you are better now, and I'm sure that all of the entrants will be happy to have your input. Do take care. Hugs, Patricia ♥

you ladies flatter me, i really don't think im all that. im not sure what you would like cuz this is very hard for me to read.

Hey Coakley! For the contest, we offer two category options as follows:
As a masterpoet, we know for sure you will write something for one of those options that will be absolutely stunning! We eagerly await your entry! I just want to give some love back to all of you that supported me during the trial of a brain aneurysm.
Lots of love and hugs, B♥nnieQ
-
Okay, Liz! We eagerly await your entry! Luv ya tons, gal!
B♥nnieQ
-
Ah, Karen, I know you would have jumped right into Patricia's contest for me if you had been around at the time! So, please, do enter a poem for one of the categories. While all the points are going to Patricia's contestants, we are giving applause for other entries and asking the contestants do review and do the same! Besides, it's an opportunity to write for God and share Him with all who read it. I LOVE YOU!

Sweetie, what is it you need to know? You write a poem, we read it, applaud, fall all over ourselves, send you hugs and kisses and choose your poem to go on the dart board. How easy is that?
GOTCHA!!
-
Liz, that's probably because you, yourself, are a very special woman.
I look forward to your entry, Sweetie. I know it will be worth the wait. Hugs, Patricia
-
I do believe I entered that contest Bonnie. I have removed all my poetry and am adding new poems. I will sit this one out and merely comment as I cannot say for sure that I entered patty's contest. I hope you are faring well now. You are onme of God's miracles and I love you dear sister.
Renee
-
Hey, Renee! You've been added to the party list! Patricia said she was sure you had entered her contest; so, as you said, it likely was removed before she had printed out the entries for me. Now! I expect you, dear one, to enter this contest! allpoetry.com/contest/1679727
-
I hope this will be above and beyond! You got some great people writing here and I look forward to reading all the entries!
Hugz to both of you. The two of you introduced me to my first contest here at AP and I will never forget your kindness! Have fun with it!
I'm leaving Wed. for N.C. , so I wish you all the best and a grand ole time reading the wonderful entries! Be well!
