Ok. So this is like my... well... not sure how many contests I've held, but it doesn't matter.
I've got a new obsession and that is the new singer James Blunt. His music and his lyrics touch my heart and melt it. His music is different than others that I've heard before but I love it.
What I want: I want you all to go to a lyrics site and look up James Blunt. I want you to pick one of his lyrics and read them or download one of his songs and write a poem based on those lyrics. In the author's comment box please tell me why you picked this song and what/or if it means anything to you.
I'm not going to make you comment on any of my poems, you can if you want to but it's not required. I won't make you comment on others entries either.
Hint: If you write about the songs: You're Beautiful, Cry, or Goodbye My Lover, you've got extra brownie points on your side. Those are my three favorite songs by him.
You can submit as many poems as you want, but if you do this, please pick a different song for each poem.
One last note: Also in your author's comment box tell me which song you read/listened to so I know.

Hey.. I feel so totally the same about James Blunt - goodbye my lover makes me cry like everytime!! Im not sure if im going to enter yet, but just to get clear incase i do... do we have to include the lyrics/song title or can our poem jst be based on it?? Pls let me kno,

Wonderful idea! You're beautiful is one of my favourite songs and I've always wanted to write something inspired by that song...so just let's hope my muse cooperates!! Will see if I can come up with something. Best wishes!

I love James Blunt! If you look on my author's page it will say that he is my second favorite singer next to Tori Amos. I bought his CD yesterday and have listened to the whole thing five times over already. I'll think something up.
