Yesterday I received a letter from someone who moved my heart. He told me of how he was Street Kid and Spent many Christmas's alone with no One to share and no one to care. The story wrenched at the very base of My heart in recognition of these people (who see all others happy and celebrating the Festive season) I would like to dedicate this Competition to these people and show that I love them and think very much of them at this time.
1.I would like to see poems of experiences living on the streets at Christmas or living alone without anyone to share ..this is the subject..
Update : I have extended the competition for another Seven days so as I can get as many poems in ..your response so far has been wonderful and and I think their are some real caring and compassionate people out there who really do care..Good Luck everybody
2. If you live in a country that has not a great income tell us how your Christmas is spent?
The Dreaded Rules ..
1. Please no cutting poems and only suicide in the context..
2. No Computer Speak...
3. Please limit Swearing it detracts from the story and there is no reason to include it(I will judge poorly those that have to use excessive language)
4. Please comment on others..we should be gracious in Victory and gracious in defeat..let us recognise the wonder and variety of the talent that exists on ALL poetry
5. Commenting on one of mine might carry a little bit of weight(Hint Hint)
The Prizes..
1st Prize..600 points and a Gold Trophy
2nd prize..200 points and a Silver Trophy
3rd prize..100 points and a Bronze trophy
I will award honorable mentions of 50 points depending on how much I have over at the close of the competition..
Good luck to all that enter and lets get writing
