Options:
1. Autumn has come and gone in Colorado, at least the part I live in, it seems to be going already so I want to see poems about the seasons, specifically winter and autumn.
2. A break off from option one, write about changes. This can be in people, in seasons, in life, in whatever. Just has to be about changes.
3. Write about holidays; traditions your family has, what you look forward to, whatever. Just has to be about the holidays.
On these next few options, there is a story behind it. Last year, four days before Christmas my brother passed away. Christmas wasn’t a very good time for us and now it’s just my father and I, and we are struggling with the fact that this time is coming on so fast. Not only that, but Thanksgiving was the last time I saw my brother.
Also, my cousin here at Allpoetry, Terri (PapoosSidekick9) has lost someone close to her as well. Her grandfather passed a few years ago and that anniversary falls on Thanksgiving this year. So….
4. Write a letter or poem to someone that you wish were there with you on a holiday. Why are they not there? What would you do if they were?
5. Write a letter or poem to my father (Pat or Patrick), Terri, or myself to lift us up on these days. I know it will be hard for all of us so please, just make these uplifting. Anything that makes me feel worse will be immediately disqualified.
6. Write a poem about a special gift that couldn’t be found in stores. I am leaving this option pretty open, but if you would like some ideas on it, I have a few. So just IM me.
That’s it for now; I think this is enough to get something for pretty much everyone. I may or may not add more; so check back frequently.
Rules:
1. Put the option number in your author's comment box.
2. No StIcKy CaPs, Typing Like This Crap, DO NOT YELL AT ME! or chat lingo (u, lol, r, der, dis, etc)
3. No Adult or Erotica Themes; the only option this may fit in is the last one, but I’m not looking for that in this contest. If you really must, IM me and I may consider it.
4. Enter as many as you’d like, but only one from each option.
5. Check spelling and grammar please. If you need someone to edit it, there are many people here that will do that for you. And this site has a spelling check and Microsoft word has one too; so just do it.
6. Not mandatory, but it would be nice to comment on other’s in this contest. There is no need to comment or even read my work.
7. No abuse, suicide or cutting.
8. Have fun and just write your little hearts out.
Prizes:
First Place Gold Trophy, 300 pts (for now)
Second Place Silver Trophy
Third Place Bronze Trophy
NOTE: All points are subject to change at any time.
Thanks,
Jessica

Thanks for hosting this contest. Some tough choices here, that I will think on and get back to enetering something before the deadline. Be strong and I am sure some of these writes will encourage,, support and motivate you.
-
tokingjohn, yes Christmas in Colorado is interesting, but I'm tired of it; I will be moving to Florida in January so I guess that shows how much I like snow. LOL! I hope you can enter!
Jess -
grannyeri, remember, the deadline will be December 31st unless some miracle happens between now and then, so there's no rush. I do look forward to your entry though.
Jess -
a great contest and since it will be open for so long... I will definetley work something up for this one!
Hope you get tons of entries! Blessings and hugz
~Frog -
I do hope you enter; I am hoping to get a lot of entries; though that may be crazy when I will be moving less than a month after it closes; and you never know how long it will take to judge! LOL! Oh well; I do hope you enter though!
Hugs
Jess -
Jess, you rock. You rock my sock off so much that...geesh, where in the world did they go. You know, just to be weird; I will enter something if I can find Christmas story to mangle like I did last year. LOL It wouldn't be for consideration, but yeah.
-
Im going to enter this, but before I do, i want to get your permission to combine two of the choices. I want to write about the winter season, but I also want to write about a special someone i want to spend it with.
Get back to me on this so I can start as soon as possible
Thank you.
-

christmas in CO is wonderful isn't it? (except for the mild problem that I hate snow!) but it's beautiful all the same. This time of year is my absolute favorite, so Im glad i stumbled upon this. I'll try and think of something and be back. I hope the holidays go well for you and you, your family and especially your brother are all at peace.
God Bless,
*Sari* -
Terri, I love you and you know it and I'm doing this to show that; I want to do so much more. And you know what, you so made my day, letting me rock BOTH socks off! LOL!
Love ya -
That is perfectly fine Unseen Star; the mixing of the options is a great idea.
I look forward to your entry.
Jess -
Trilli, you have to enter! You'll make me cry if you don't and then Gabe will be mad at you. LOL! I do hope you enter; it will be good fun!
Hugs
Jess -
Nikki; I'm sorry that things are hard for you as well. I wish that God took the months of November and December off but He doesn't. I do hope you can enter something; maybe it will make you feel better.
Jess -
BabyGirl, I hope you can enter this contest. It should be some great fun.
Jess -
Sari, yes Christmas in Colorado is great, but yeah, I hate the snow too. But I do hope you can find something to write; I look forward to your entry!
Jess -
Will read these.
I may read this for some inspiration. I am sort of right now in between what is known as seasonal depression. -
I get that way too; I just got over one. But I'm sure something will come to you; it doesn't close until New Years Eve; so don't give up.
Hugs
Jess -
Jess dear, you rock my socks off all the time. I know why you did it, it's just dang. You've left me speechless dear.
You don't need to do anything special to show me you love me dear. I know how much you love me, I love you just as much.
-
