DESCRIPTION
I created a group called 'Chattoria' a few months ago so I could chat, pontificate and meet other wonderful people who like the same. We share some common interests but for the most part, we enjoy reading and chatting-- ugh, a lot.
Some of the best friendships can be found online. You know- the kind of friendships that not only foster tremendous love and caring, but the kind where you actually MEET the wonderful people behind the words. Or at least, you would meet if given the opportunity. These friends become a part of our daily lives, and really make a difference.
I have been blessed in meeting some great people online. Some, I have been corresponding with for years. I am extremely proud to count some newer friends among my best. Online friendships enrich our lives, and give us a chance to meet others located throughout the world. I know that being chronically ill, it is even more difficult to meet people IRL 'In Real Life', so online friendships are most cherished. The communicative, caring and intelligent friends I have met online are among the most treasured in my life.
CONTEST
Write a poem, story, or a prose piece about online friendships. Tell us about your own experiences, about the people you treasure. Give us something thoughtful and endearing. NO DARK WRITES will be considered. We don't want to hear about your stalkers- maybe in the future [giggles], but not now. This is where you can allow us a glimpse into your heart. Here, you can pay homage to your online friends!
Tell us how these friends have made a difference in your life. Be creative. Be fun. Be wild and crazy if you want. Any poem type, any story type. Prose welcome. No form restrictions, no word limits. Read below for more specific information.
RULES AND GUIDELINES
[1]. Three entry limit. Just in case you are hit with inspiration-- let's keep it limited to no more than three entries
[2]. Pre-writes allowed, just make sure they have not won any trophies, and that they meet the theme of this contest.
[3]. Please include the friend's name, or handle, somewhere in your entry or author's comments. If you're going to speak of many friends, then you don't need to include their names in the item itself, but a mention in the author's comments would be nice. If they're on All Poetry, include a link to their author page. We'd love to take a look and to know who you're writing about 
[4]. NO CUSSING. This shouldn't be a problem considering that we are looking for happy and thoughtful writes about online friendships. If it is a funny type of cussing, then that's fine but use only VERY mild words. Thanks. If you have any questions on this, IM Susan or Fae and ask
[5]. It is so hard to read some poems on this site when light colors are used in the font, or the backgrounds are too busy. PLEASE make sure to re-read your entry to be sure we can read and judge it thoroughly. Thanks a bunch. IMAGES are encouraged!
[6]. The item you submit MUST be based on facts. That is, this must be about a real friendship.
[7]. Chattoria members may enter, but are not allowed to place
JUDGING
[1]. Susan and I are the judges. We will probably read and comment as we go. We will NOT leave even ONE entry unread, un-commented on, or un-applauded. You can count on it.
[3]. I'm usually quick in judging, but I must state that I reserve the right to take up to ONE WEEK to judge them. Ya never know, I may need the time.

My poem is about a guy named Brian that I met at at country concert and we ended up becoming bestfriends.... now he is away at war in Iraq. I'm glad that you made a contest about friendship that alouded prewrites.

This is such a sweet and wonderful idea for a contest Fae.
I wish I could find my inspiration enough to write something for it. Its been a very rough couple of days for me, so I am hard pressed to find that, but wish I could.
Either way, still a sweet idea and I am sure the entries will be lovely. Good luck in deciding, bet that will be tough.
