~ This contest is being run by (dragondancer). I know there are good writers out there, but I know that there are a lot of slow, worthless writers that take a glance without looking and just shove off without actually even knowing what the contest is about.
If you are the latter of these, shove off now. Contest number 16 for me is on:
Character Creation--> Making up a character, complete with bio, description and a short intro to a story or a short poem.
World Creation--> Making up a world from nothing, complete with basic geography and cities. Plus a short intro to a story and/or a short poem.
Town Creation--> Making up a town with main street names and important structures. Plus a short intro to a story and/or a short poem.
Building Creation--> Making up a building of some sort with major rooms noted. Plus a short intro to a story and/or a short poem.
Species Creation--> Making up a certain type of creature with a complete background explanation and description. Plus a short intro to a story and/or a short poem. $ $ $ How to do this Contest $ $ $
First you will need to create one of the things above. Then you'll have to create a poem or a story going on with it. If it's a world or whatever, make something happen in the world like an earthquake or something. Go to the following link to get a better idea of how to graph out your creation. The story or poem is up to you to create based off of your creation. I want both on the same post please.

- - Introduction - -
I start out with a very simple scheme here. First off is the section where I tell you what I want and all of that. You know, the basics. Then I head into my lovely introduction where I say a bunch of non-essential things that have nothing to do with the contest just to make this extra long to ward off those hopeful contestants that just want to enter something stupid in hopes of getting points even though it doesn't fit the criteria and they don't even bother to read what the whole thing is on. For the rest of you that have stayed through out all of this, I'd suggest heading straight down to the section I've titled "Options." I've put the rose icon thingy next to it so you can see it better. (
) Now, for all of you strangely determined to read my filler section here, I know there has to be at least one of you strange people, I strongly suggest that you simply head down to the next section that is noted by its flower icon. Come on now, don't be stubborn or stupid or whatever it is that's making you read this boring, uninteresting section here. I know you're reading this. Stop it. Stop it. Stop!
Gosh, you are very determined to keep reading right on through, aren't you? Well, if you must, I suppose I can't really stop you. I mean, I did type all of this. Which, mind you, takes a great deal of time on my part. What with the thinking of what to say, the selecting the write key on the keyboard...all of it. Not to mention trying to remember what this contest is actually about. I mean, seriously, do you have any idea how hard it is to ramble like this if you can't even remember why it is that you're rambling? No? Well, I guess I couldn't really imagine anyone else doing this anyway.

~~ Options ~~
~~
Note: Before you get started, you might want to check out the following link. It's my column showing you basically what I want from you for this contest. It may even help you out a little.

World Creation
Choose one option below. (the numbers tell you that that is an option) allpoetry.com/poem/1497760
~~ 1. Water Utopia. Your world is spherical like Earth. It must be mostly water. Whether the inhabitants live mostly on land, underground or water or whatever is up to you. Give a basic geological make up. Name important areas. You don't need to be specific, but something generically visible.
~~ 2. Prairie Eternal. Your world is spherical like Earth. It must be mostly plains and hill country. Where inhabitants live is up to you. Name important land structures and describe major water areas. Major towns are also appreciated.
~~ 3. Mountain Nationale. Your world is spherical like Earth. It must be mostly mountains and cliff country. A lot of arid and unwelcoming land unless your residents are adapted to it. Where they live is up to you. Name important structures and water marks. Oasis-es, small forests...don't forget things that inhabitants find important.
Town Creation
Choose one option below. (the numbers tell you that that is an option) allpoetry.com/poem/1497760
~~ 1. Wooden Paradise. Your town is made up of a more or less old west style. Wooden structures with shingle roofing. Roads are either wooden, dirt or cobblestone. No electricity or running water. A town center and well are essential. Don't forget to name major things like town hall or smithy or mayor's office.
~~ 2. Stone Sanctuary. Your town is made up of almost completely stone or adobe. This means earthy stuff. Roads are either dirt or cobblestone. A town center, well, and hotel are essential. You may add a castle to this town, but it must be part of the town (surrounded or the town inside of it).
~~ 3. Brick-a-Brack. Your town is made up of brick and other such things. No two buildings are alike in form or material. Roads are cobbled or other stone. A town center, well, cart-wright, etc. ought to be mentioned.
Building Creation
Choose one option below. (the numbers tell you that that is an option) allpoetry.com/poem/1497760
~~ 1. Home. A building that will fit no more than about six people. It may be of whatever materials and repair you wish.
~~ 2. Inn. A building that will fit about 100 or so people. It may be of whatever materials and repair you like.
~~ 3. Castle. This must be large enough to hold an army and royal family. A small town may also help.
Species Creation
Choose one option below. (the numbers tell you that that is an option) allpoetry.com/poem/1497760
~~ 1. Humanoid. You have to develop a human-like creature. It can't be all ready taken (in general). So that leaves out things like dwarves, elves, goblins...that sort of thing. You may add wings, tails, transformations or whatever, but be sure to describe everything. It must walk on two lets and dress itself. The generic humanistic qualities must be present.
~~ 2. Quadra-ped. You have to develop a creature that walks around on four legs. It can't be all ready taken (in general). So that leaves out things like unicorns, dragons, kelpie...and so forth. You may add whatever you want to the creature, but it must be sustainable on a world as close to Earth as is possible.
~~ 3. Aquatic or Flight. You have to develop a creature that lives underwater or in the air. It can't all ready be taken (in general). So that leaves out things like angels, mermaids, kelpie...you get the idea. You may add whatever you want to it, but it has to be able to survive (within reason) in a place like Earth.
Character Creation
Choose one option below. (the numbers tell you that that is an option) allpoetry.com/poem/1497760
~~ 1. Single Creation. You have to create a female or male character. It may be any species and so forth.
~~ 2. Double-Headed Creation. You have to create a creature with two heads/two minds or something of that nature.
~~ 3. Shifting Creation. You have to create a creature that shifts from one form into another. It can me wings that appear and disappear or a totally different form.

Pray thee godspeed!
Holy God! My this is a long one. I shall have to bow this one out gracefully. Aye, I roleplay and have a character set up in mind. But oiye! You want blood, body and soul! Wo0t! Tis the time if ever be I shall enter it here for thine eyes to see!
This contest must have taken you 4ever!

man you really spent a lot of time thinking this out I will have to ponder this contest unfortunately I seem to be a one story sort of girl. I am stuck on one thing and can't get it out of my head.
-
In actuality, it's rather short. I just make it lengthy to ward off people that merely post without looking or are too lazy to find this out. If you check back and actually read most of the contest you'll see that most of it is just filler so that the contest appears longer than it really is. pout
-
Wow!! This is a very interesting contest!!!! I mite enter, seeing as it is really interesting and seems to sound like fun. wel, not sure wot to enter for sure but i would either enter as a species or character one.
I ll try and enter.
Best of luck!!

Your contests sure are long, sissy.
You didn't tell me you made another one. I'll try to read all of this later on and see what I can do. No promises though.
-
for creating species, can we take a normal animal, but change it so that it is not like it is in reality? (ex: change intellegance, physical characteristics, ect.) Let me know!

May I say you have really put your thinking cap on for this contest and I think anyone who writes for it will have to do that too. Not that I'm not a great thinker however; my muse I believe was left on the America West jet last week and I have been having a slight problem with my thinker lately.
I do wish you though the best of luck in your contest and it's judging. Hope it is a fun one for you

Thanx
Length, sissy, is something I just can't help. I just don't know why, but making these bloody contests always turn out to be a great deal longer than I want. Maybe it's because I want specific things and in depth sort of things. *shrug* Take your time though. You've actually done this sort of thing many times!
-
You may take any creature you like and transform it however you please. You just can't create things like elves or dwarves...kelpies...or any sort of fantasy/sci-fi based creation well-known about. (In other words, from what I understand of your question, yes you can)
-
An absolutely wonderful idea for a contest! I'm a fan of character creation myself, and might have to enter this baby later on! ^^ Maybe if I snag some freetime or some such nonexistant thing... ^^
Good luck in your contest! -
Thanx
Trust me, this doesn't take that much time. If you follow the link I have posted here at least five, six times, you'll get it done a fair share quicker than most writes. I hope you come back and enter! -
amazing contest i dea if i had the time i would so do this
-
Hm..
It doesn't take a lot of time, actually. Please do try to come back and try. You may find this to be both a helpful creator's manual as well as a great way to unblock any writer's block. -
Thank you!
WOW! Thank you so much for the trophy! You are truly an amazing writer and poet and I am glad to have came across your excellence within this site
Thanks again and I cannot wait until your next contest!
-
You're very welcome. Give me a few on that contest, by the way. I type everything by hand and I'm only on-line approx. 1-3 days a week. It'll be a while. Besides, I have to think of something to host in the contest.
Just check back weekly or there abouts! Thanks for you entry!
