OK well.. hello.
CONDUCT DISORDER
No. 33 (Updated July 2004)
"Conduct disorder" refers to a group of behavioral and emotional problems in youngsters. Children and adolescents with this disorder have great difficulty following rules and behaving in a socially acceptable way. They are often viewed by other children, adults and social agencies as "bad" or delinquent, rather than mentally ill. Many factors may contribute to a child developing conduct disorder, including brain damage, child abuse, genetic vulnerability, school failure, and traumatic life experiences.
Children or adolescents with conduct disorder may exhibit some of the following behaviors:
Aggression to people and animals
Destruction of Property
Deceitfulness, lying, or stealing
Serious violations of rules
~ AMERICAN ACADEMY OF CHILD AND ADOLESCENT PSYCHIATRY
I want a poem that relates in any way to this paragraph/quote/description (whatever it is)... thing.
It can be about any of the Disruptive Behaviour Disorders;
Oppostitional Defiant Disorder, *Conduct Disorder*, Disruptive Behaviour Disorder NOS and/or Anti-Social Personality Disorder.
If you know of something similar let me know and I will consider that.
Now, it can be any aspect of this subject. You can complain about it, you can blame the parents or the grandparents or the great grandparents, you can write about you having it and how it's really hard or really fun, or someone else having it and how you just can't cope... or you can just guess about it. Whatever. Just don't start moaning about depression and self harm. I ain't interested.
Note: I have Conduct Disorder so if you decide to complain about it, pretend it's about one of the others.
I am not expecting many entries for this so I hope what I do get will be good.
I promise to comment on every poem entered.
I do not want Internet chat, you for your or your for you're or no for know or were for where. I want you to re-read your poem and edit it if you need to. Also, please take time to tick the box that puts, 'Check the spelling'. It takes a few seconds.
I do not want humour. I don't do it.
I do want you to comment on one of my poems or one of the other contestants for each poem you enter AND put the name of it in your authors box.
I do want you to put in your authors box which disorder and who you are talking about.
I do want you to put 'Difficult
' in your authors box.
Anyone who does not follow the rules will not be disqualified. They simply get jack shit.
Do not blame the 'not following rules' on a disability. I can quite easily follow the rules of a contest.
The end things will be this:
*Gold* 500 points
*Silver* 300 points
*Bronze* 100 points
*Honorable Mention* 20 points
*Applause's*

Hey I just wanted to say--I love the idea for this contest and I love the rules. I was wondering if I could write a poem about manic depression aka bipolar disorder? It won't be about the wallowing in self-pity/self mutilation... I promise.

Sorry I didn't reply earlier. I didn't see this until the contest was closed. You could have done though. Next time I have a similar contest I'll let you know.
