Guess what! Me (sui generis777) and the great Melpomene have decided to give all of you FREE VERSE FANATICS a contest!!! That's right FREE VERSE POETRY is welcomed and encouraged HERE no rhyme, no structure, just natural POETRY
See that picture up there??? Delve into it. Look deeply into it. Does it say anything to you? Remind you of something? Inspire you?Ok, good, then write about it
And here...a word list to get those creative juices churning and whatnot, and to give you more of a challenge

This was such a good contest! I am in love with free verse. Thank you for giving me an opportunity (sp?) to actually write because I have had horrible writers block lately. I had a great time writing my poem. So once again, thanks!

Wonderful picture; not much to work from but I guess it adds for a different sort of inspiration. All I seem to see in the picture is a mixture of darkness and pink! Good luck to everyone who enters the contest anyway. And I hope you and 'Melpomene' have lots of fun judging! x

Edna: I've seen you about AP in my wanderings - and way too often, for what good you have to say. Indeed your signature "Sweet by name, sweet by nature" is misleading as all you seem to have to say is how dreadful this-or-that is.
Hold your tongue if your words hold no value (value, of which, your empty insults have none) and learn to better choose what you say. Also mind petty errs- they are the least of a writer's worries. -

Oh, now this is a contest! I have been so frustrated with the lack of riveting contests lately, but this really has allured me and caught/ sparked my fancy. I have to run for supper now, but you BEST believe that I will be back with my entry in an hour or two.
