I needed a plan...But what?

When I was in ninth grade my teacher gave us the starting to a story called "Mailbox" and we had to write our own rendition for the story and ending that went along with the opening. I write "if you want to look for an example "Crush"" and that's exactly what I want you to do.

here is what he gave us:


"I hesitated, one hand holding the mailbox lid and the other gripping a large manila envelope. I'd spent hours preparing the papers in that envelope, and now I hesitated to release them into the dark recess of the mailbox.

I let go. The envelope dropped with a thud, the lid banged shut and I felt a sudden panic.

I could see myself defacing federal property. I envisioned a scene where I'm pleading with the postmaster to return my envelope. Give it back! It was a mistake! I didn't mean to mail it!

With my fingers trembling I backed away from the mail box. I had to think, a plan, a plan that’s what I needed. But what?"

This is going to be a hard contest but I think people will like it. I will be very lenient if you want to write a poem but that's really hard. Or if you have something really close:
a)per say about doing something stupid but then realizing it wasn't stupid at all.
b.) Having a crush on someone and being really embarrassed about it, until you realized it was a good thing  after all.

Gosh I hope people enter this. it will be really cool to see what some of you can come up with.

(if I had tons on points or knew how to give points second and third would be worth more)
