Everyone will notice that there are 21, not 20, poets listed here. This is due to the fact that as I was judging there was another entry into the contest that I did not have the opportunity to read. Because I felt the poem worthy, I decided to also move that poet on as it was of no fault to them that the contest said it was still open when it was closed for judging.
Again, this contest is for rhyming poetry...you pick the subject and presentation. I am opening it to prewrites although I'd much prefer new poetry. Please if you do enter a prewrite, do not enter one that has already won a contest or been in one of my previous contests. One entry per poet.
1st Place 300 points and a gold trophy
2nd place 100 points and a silver trophy
3rd place 50 points and a bronze trophy
From this contest 10 will move on to the third and final round. Good luck and may the rhyming begin

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on July 26, 2005
- Rewards: Gold: 300
- Final notes: WOW!!! Another great round and another hard judging. Thank you everyone for your entries, my decision ws not an easy one...but ten move on:
1st Place Cat Town by phattkat I simply loved the sing-song meter in this piece and the way it read like a childs nursery rhyme. I also liked the fact that when offered a constructive critique, the poet took it and ran making changes that improved the pieceEntries [6]
