~~ Overview ~~
~~
~~You're going to want something very important for this contest: TIME. Aside from that? Well...I'd say a good writer will be able to get this down far easier than you'd believe.
I have adjusted the time of this contest due to the fact of my computer going down....I may do so again...

Introduction
As is usual with my contest, I have an introduction to ward off all you readers that simply look see the length and run off. That's right, you. All of you people can just go away now and let the actual contestants enter. Okay? All gone? Good. For the rest of you, I'd suggest heading straight down to the section I've titled "Options." I've put the piggie icon thingy next to it so you can see it better. (
)As for you others...I don't know who you are and all that, but I'm just going to ramble here in hopes that you really do what I said above. Remember now, head straight to the options (that's below here) and read from there. Don't bother reading this section unless you seriously can't take a hint. Of course, this is more of a slap across the face when compared to a hint, but then again, I don't know how intelligent anyone reading this really is.
I wonder if I've lost you all by now. I can actually keep going, but I'm sort of getting bored with this. So perhaps I shall move on to something more important herein than telling you to just ignore this entire introduction section. After all, if you can't take a hint after the third time, what's the use in telling you?
OPTIONS
1. Favorite Collaborations. Select a collaborating partner from one of your favs or people who have you as a fav. No one else. They must be a fav in some way to you. Once you've got that figured out. I want you to write a story or poem together about anything. (Please see Rules below marked by alien face
)2. Personal Collaboration. IM me and I shall give you a set of three to five paragraphs to start a story OR (on your request) three or five lines to start a poem. From there on out, you must write it yourself without any influence from myself or others. (Please see Rules below marked by alien face
)3. Create a character. Create a creature that isn't impossible to beat and isn't impossible not to beat. Something general flawed, but not worthless. Use this character in a story. This story must be discussed prior to entering. You will need to IM me the basic summary of the storyline before I will accept this one. (Please see Rules below marked by alien face
)4. Take three to five letters randomly from the alphabet and spell them out. The second or third one MUST be a vowel. This is your character's name. Create a story based on what you see of this character (if only via their name). (Please see Rules below marked by alien face
)5. If you have an adopted poet or you are an adopted poet, I would like you to post a work that is created through both you and your counterpart. Any format and genre, but it must not be over 100 lines long. (Please see Rules below marked by alien face
)6. If nothing here suits you, please IM me your suggestion and I may either add it or simply accept your entry. (Please see Rules below marked by alien face
)
RULES
1. No excess profanity. No more than about 15% of the entire work.
2. No excess erotica. PG-18 and lower. (If I was 18 and this was a movie, I must be able to see it without supervision)
3. No excess anything. Basically, reiterating above. Don't overdo anything.
4. No more than 5 posts per contestants.
5. Spell check. Grammar check.
6. Place the number of your option in your comment box and tell my why you chose it.
7. Sticky Caps. Don't do it. Mistakes are fine overall, but I HATE sticky caps without reason. (And I haven't found a good enough reason.
8. Prewrites are nega-tory.
9. Please enter works that make sense.
10. Don't forget to mention who your collaboration partner(s) was(were) and if you use someone else's character(s) you must reference them.
Now then, go enjoy yourselves and everything. I want you to seriously work together on this. This is a "team" effort sort of contest and you will gain 300 points EACH! That's 600 points!! If you do this contest on your own (AND I know you can) or with me as the "collaborator," you are entitled to 600 points.
!!!

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on August 17, 2005

- Final notes: The final scoring was a bit tough. Sephiroth Lost won out (barely) so that means that most of you were pretty darn close.

As is usual with my contest, I have an introduction to ward off all you readers that simply look see the length and run off.
I'll have you know that I'm one of those people.
You're just special 'cause you're my sissy!
-
Rose...you ought to enter.
-
Well, maybe...but you'll have to give me something to work with.
-
um not really following you here..
-
Please specify what you aren't understanding.
-
I've read several of your pieces, and know that your style is very different from my style. If I ask you for 3 to 5 paragraphs and do a collaboration with you, I'm not sure where I'm going to be when I take it ... sounds interesting. I think I might like the change of pace ... take a couple of days from the series I'm working on and see what I can do here.
Okay, I'll give it a try. I want the personal collaboration with you. -
So let me get this straight, if I choose to do a solo story, the only way to get points is to win first place, but if I collaborate with someone we'll receive points for our work right on down to fourth place? I'm hoping you simply forgot to add the points for the solo placings, which should be equal to both the collaborators added together, which fourth place is not, 25 + 25 is not 10, it's fifty. Solo for silver should be 200 points, bronze is 100 and fourth would be 50. Just seems unfair and more than a little biased towards collaborators.

This sounds very lovely. My AP sister ~Princess Of Wolves~ and I are going to figure something out for this. But when you said you can enter up to five times, do you mean five different stories, or you can enter a story in five parts? Just like to know so we know how to format our story.
Hope you get lots of lovely enteries, have fun!
~Rhiannon~ -
But if you were 18 and this was a movie, you could watch porn.
Or are you not american? -
You are allowed up to five entries overall. That means that you and your collab partner may enter only five times, whether with each other, solo or with another person.
-
I was born and raised in the USA. The thing about it is...I had very strict parents. So by age 18? Watching the Simpsons was questionable enough.
DOn't worry too much, if anyone steps over the bounds, I let them know.
-
But you're still 18, and your parents can't supervise what you watch anymore because legally you're an adult.
I mean, theoretically, you could go rent some animal and boat porn. And they couldn't really do anything, not legally anyway. -
Technically, I'm older than 18.
The thing about it is: I refuse to do that sort of thing.
Seriously. That and my baby brother can get on here and see this stuff...there's no way I'm letting that happen, he's only 7! Anyway, regardless of my baby bro, I don't want that sort of stuff because...well...because that's just what I said. (so there

I LOVE YOUR WORK AND I HAPPY TO ENTER YOUR CONTEST
-
Really interesting contest, but I'm not sure I'll really have time to write anything for it
I did, however want to be sure and comment since I clicked on it from the features box. I'll bookmark and maybe I will find the time.
-
Which of the options were you interested in? Perhaps getting it all set out will tell you if you have time or not?
-
Very interesting and complicated contest... but since I have no favorites I guess I better just sit back and watch the fun.
-
*chuckles* I couldn't resist.. I went back and read all the rest of the writing too
It Had to be done.. purely because I like seeing anything that I'm told not to read.. (sort of like Pandoras box or Christine with Erik and his mask...)
I've sent an IM hopefully I will be able to enter
Reb. -
You could IM dragondancer and she'll give you something to start with. That would be for option 2.
-
I would so do this contest, but I'm not good with working well with others. Aww well, good idea anyway. I like it!
-
Well I will have to see if someone will enter with me; I haven't done a collaboration yet so this should be fun and worth while. Hope you get what you're looking for in this contest.
Jess -
Really interesting idea! I love how you always fo your contests, they're so funny to read through! (The Introduction especially
). I'll try to conjure something up for this, perhaps a collaboration with my brother or something...we'll see! I just may be back!
Good luck with this!

Well, I've done my best sissy. I've told a lot of my groups about it and featured it twice. None of my friends that are on here have been online lately, so I haven't been able to tell them.
-
Please don't just sit there! Join in! What's the fun of a contest without contestants?
Come on!
-
Why not try? You'd be surprised, really. I mean, the entries thus far...they sound so succint. Option 2 is a favorite among contestants, so why not try it out? Besides, as I said, you don't HAVE to collaborate in order to enter.
-
entered *chuckles* hopefully you won't think I destroyed your characters too much...
Reb -
More Like War and myself wrote an entry last night, right as the contest was closing...and we didn't submit it in time-we were just a minute or two off-and we were wondering if you could possibly re-open the contest for just enough time to let us enter our poem. It would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Amanda -
I have opened it until the day I leave for vacation, please do hurry.
-
thank you so much for keeping the contest open, I have submitted the entry-thanks again!
Amanda -
Hi - I want to do the personal collaboration - give me the paragraphs options please. thanks a ton
