yeah i couldnt think of a better title heh so anyways as the title says woo me with your songs for a pretty little trophy...

so write a song
make me love it
you win
its that simple!

1st place: 300 points
2nd place: 100 points
3rd place: 50 points

and i also may give out some applauses

you can swear all you like but remember youre meant to be wooing me over not scarin the hell outta me
the song can be about anything you wish (happy, sad, weird or whatever) but make me love it

    Well, that was kind of rude. Unless you know the person, in which case, never mind.

    Great idea. Hope you have better luck with it than did I. I have a couple of nice songs that would fit, if you open to prewrites, but the muses are drunk and on strike, and songs require so much more than just poetry. I will check back to see if you change your mind.

    when "woo" does not mean "to court" it means "to suck up to." it's a different connotation of "win over" or "seek favor."

    if you want people to write a song about how you kick so much ass, then your usage is perfect.

    That's right, nell! And so waht if we have to win you over? It's your contest, and it can be about anything you want! It's great to see a lyrics contest. I know I'm always losing contests because I enter lyrics, and the contest owner is looking for "regular" poetry. Thanks for running such a kick-ass contest!!!

    As anal-retentive as I am with spelling and such, I do like to see people stretch the meanings of words (so long as they still make sense), so I did understand your intention in using "woo".
    Thank you VERY much for being a fair and thorough judge- I always appreciate it when judges leave a comment on my work because my main motivation in entering contests is not points or trophies but to get feedback and constructive criticism.
    Anyways, congratulations to the trophy winners!
