!!!NEW UPDATE:!!! ok, so as some of you know i was rather busy this past week - but now I've got plenty of time to reply to your comments and requests- hope i havent discouraged or annoyed any of you, i know all my plans didnt seem to work out, but ..lets get this show on the road, poets!
I'm extremely excited! In this new contest, any poet-soldier who dares face the front-line may bring his sword to wield and fight ... ahem ...I mean, to WRITE
I am looking for BRAVE POETS ( of any age, any # of trophies, etc.) who would like to indulge in this honorable, adventurous CHALLENGE
What I will do:
send me an instant message or drop a note on my authors page saying you're up to the challenge. ( I will be thrilled someones willing to enter!) I'll return your message with a word of thanks and give you 3 words and one phrase or question
What you will hopefully do:
take the phrase question and 3 words and write about what ever your poetic heart desires using/ describing / theme-ing those 3 words and phrase/ question in the form of a BALLAD (this will really test your skill!)
Make it as unique as your poetic minds can! it can be about ANYTHING (with in reason of the rules) ( e.x. : history, love, hope, humor, dark, sad, loss,nature, metaphors, similesemotions, worldviews (<< back them up) almost anything!
However, please, please, please add your own tangy ingredient. I don't want 30 dark love ballads! If it's a dark ballad, make it intense and meaningful. if it's a love ballad, make it unpredictable and worthy of thought. Etc...
The contest doors are shut after 30 entries ( ive gota life too, you know) so hurry to enter! One entry per poet! I will pick 5 of you to win. Don't sweat it if your not a trophy- winner, it doesn't mean you didn't work hard on your entry, it doesn't mean it's not trophy- worthy. Every poem is a bar of gold to someone!!!:
1st (+ comments) spiffy trophy and 400 points to spend as you desire
2nd (+ comments) moon-lit silver trophy and 70 points, hopefully (?)
3rd (+ comments) blazing bronze trophy and about 30 points
4th ( + comments) Honorable Mention +10pts. and applauds
5th (+ comments) Honorable Mention +10pts. and applauds
RULES!!!
collaborations are allowed with proper credit given to all poets
no prewrites
no erotic poetry or adult themes
no cussing, swearing, all that jazz
1 entry per poet
put " SAY ANYTHING" in your authors comments box
Not requires but you could benefit from:
commenting on my work and other entries:
make are faces light up when we see we've got a comment
earn yourself some spiffy points
learn something
After all, I'll be commenting onyour work!
How I will JUDGE:
step 1:
take notes on first impressions
check to see if rules were followed
step 2: before final judging
* see how unique your ballad is, did you stick to the form, words and phrase/ question, ffollowthe rules, back up statements, and incase you edited it meanwhile, review it a 2nd time.
THEN...eliminate!
I will not be too quick on judging this contest ( I've been to speedy and thoughtless in past contests...) I will put much thought into it first. I'll comment and review every entry . I won't judge on if it appeals to me, i'll judge on ART!

wow..you guys have great talent.i could never write a ballad as good as most of you here. i'm only knew at this ballad thing so forgive me if its not perfect.i tried to follow the rules of making a ballad but somehow i think its wrong. but anyways great writes guys..you rock!
