Welcome to a brand new contest for newer members of Mama's Family. This is going to be one of our best contest ever! There will be lots of prizes including points, spots on the featured box, applause's for a three of your poems, a lifetime of critiquing, a spot in the shameless promotion box, a spot on the member of the week Mama's Family board post and more. Mama's Family is a true family of support. We support our members in everything they do and we do not shy away from group IM's. You only have to give us a try to discover the true wealth of friendship we offer.
The topic of the contest will be : "what family means to you". It must be in either poetry or VERY short story form with correct grammar and spelling. There will be several judges from Mama's family. These judges do not qualify for entry, so there is no conflict.
Rules:
1. Absolutely no swearing
2. No erotica
3. Positive pieces only ie no abuse, self-mutilation, suicide etc
4. No Chat lingo
5. No Sticky caps
6. You MUST have been a member of Mama's Family for less than 3 months to enter.
7. Only ONE entry per contestant
Any of the judges may suggest removal of any contestant for any abuse of the rules or for inappropriate commenting. (Although, since you will all be members of Mama's Family, I don't see this being a problem
)
Minimum Point Awards:
1st Place 500 points Gold
2nd Place 250 points Silver
3rd Place 100 points Bronze
All entries will receive honorable mentions and some points as a welcome gift to Mama's Family

hmmm... yeah... just reread the whole setup of the contest... I don't know actually what family means to me... real family at least... I mean... there isn't really one of them I like except of my sister, who is like my best friend, and my mom... who finally starts to accept the fact I'm gay...

I told her a thousand times, and let her cry a thousand times about it but with starting to accept I actually mean that my boyfriend can come over (if my dad isn't home) and that she knows I stay over at his house each weekend

dearest skitza, You are qualified to enter because you are new as of now, wether newly back or not If you have something that fits the topic, but isn't exactly positve; go ahead and enter it. I said that above mostly to avoid the majority of entries being about those topics instead of focusing on family. However, if your's relates to family, then it's ok. Best wishes!
