Yes, I know it's a dumb title, but what else can I call this contest? It's my first contest and it's all about music. Any kind of music you can think of. Here are your options:
1. Write me a poem about a band/singer/musician. Tell me about how they look when they perform. Tell me what their music sounds like! Be detailed. I Want to be able to visualize it. I want to really see it, even if i have never heard of the group. Remember to tell me who you wrote about the your author comments!
2. Write me a poem based on a song by a band/singer/musician. I don't want your poem to sound exactly like the one you base it off of, i just want the same type of meaning. Again, put the artist and song in your author comments!
3. Write about how you feel when you play an instrument, any instrument.
4. Write about how you feel when you listen to a certain type of music. Anything from Rock'n'Roll to Classical. please specify what kind of music in your author comments.
5. Write me a song, about anything.
*6. Write me a poem about how you feel when you sing. I want to be able to feel exactly what you do.
*7. Write about a composer's life. I want to hear about what they went through to become the legends they are. specify the composer in the author comments.
*8. This one is for my own personal taste. There is a list of my favorite singers/musicians/bands/composers on my author page. Pick one and write about them, or one of their songs. Tell me which one you picked in your author comments.
*9. And finally Write about your favorite Broadway Show or Opera! This one is broad, you can pick a specific character or you can write about the music, plot, or composer. Specify the show in your author comments.
*These options (6-9) are my personal favorites, so you might get brownie points for writing about these.
Please try to be as detailed as you can with these and write which option you chose in your author comments.
So I hope this works out, I'm going to allow prewrites, but only if they fit with one of these options and you must specify which!
Rules (yes you must have these):"
1. No Sticky caps!
2. Watch grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
3. No Erotica (I'm 16.. I don't want to read about that)
4. Comment on at least one other poem entered in the contest!
5. This one isn't required, but it would be nice if you would comment on one of my poems.
6. No more than 3 entries per person please!
7. Have fun!
OK well, that's all I have to say, So Have fun and *Remember to specify exactly what I asked you to! I want to know the exact option and what that option requires you to specify!*

Thanks so much for the HM, this was a lovely contest!

WOW!
Thank you! I love Bianca! She's my first bass!

Thank you very much for taking the time to comment on all three of my entries- I don't mind the "nitpicky" crits because they help me become better. I tend to be far too lax on punctuation sometimes
Shades of Blue technically has an ABAB rhyme scheme, except I broke up the lines according to phrasing so it just appears odd.
I replied to your comments on the other two and made some changes according to your suggestions but I didn't realize you'd already closed the contest. If you want to take a look at them now, here are the links:

The first one is something I'd really like to polish up to use for our band, but the other was just a spinoff so I'm not quite as concerned with that one. Still, I would appreciate any constructive criticism people may have- and will eventually return the favor (I'm judging some contests right now so I'm trying to focus on those).
Anyways, thanks again and congratulations to ALL the winners!

No problem you deserved and HM
