Hello everyone. This is my first contest, so I'm looking forward to having plenty of entries to judge; but I'll close it for judging early if I get too many. Anyway, this isn't going to be one of those almost impossible contests..it will be fairly easy. All I'm asking is that you give me your absolute best (hence the title).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CHOICES:
1. Submit a poem about love. It can be any kind of love--agape, brotherly, romantic, etc.
2. Submit a poem about society and the world around you. I don't want to see any of those crappy pieces that just say, "The world is gay, let's end it today." Give me something to mull over after I read it.
3. Submit a poem about Our Heavenly Father or another deity (this does not include Satan) of your choice. The only thing I ask is that these pieces be positive..no religion bashing of any kind.
4. Submit a piece on nature, whether it be in its perfections or imperfections. Just make me feel something.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
RULES:
1. Prewrites are allowed; I HATE it when people don't permit them.
2. Keep profanity to an absolute MINIMUM. They'll be replaced with 'bunny' anyway.
3. NO EROTICA! Most of it sucks anyway.
4. No sTiCkY cApS or ebonics.
5. Use intelligent word choices.
6. Use spell check!
7. One poem per person.
8. Put the number of your choice (1,2,3, or 4) in the author's comments of the poem.
BONUS:
You don't have to do this, but I'd appreciate it if you would comment on at least one of my poems.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm not going to make you put anything else in the author's comments to see if you read the rules, I'm going to trust that you're intelligent enough to do so on your own. When I read your poem, if you have disobeyed even one of the rules, your piece will be excluded from the judging. I'm not going to make a rude comment about it, though. Well, that's about it. I wish you the best of luck! =)
Cheri E.
Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on June 11, 2005
- Rewards: Gold: 300
- Final notes: HONOURABLE MENTIONS:
"Piece of the Beauty" - Indifference
"Bethany" - tattooprodigy
"Tragic Art" - Manicmuze
"You're Not Alone" - evomx5
"The Way We Walk" - rannilt
Thank you so much for entering your piece in my contest. It was a joy reading it, and I hope you continue to submit your work into AP contests. Choosing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places was so hard, and it took me several hours till I was happy with my decisions. Of course, 1st gets 300 points, and if I feel that I have enough left over, I will deal out point prizes to 2nd and 3rd respectively and as I see fit. Congratulations to the winners! I'm so proud of everyone who entered, though..this was fun.
But I don't see who got gold. I'd like to read that poem. Hm... -
Your piece definitely deserved to place in my contest. And the gold winner removed their piece from the list after the contest was over, but here's the title and author:
"Ocean of Tears" by Moon Shadow
