Well, we have had several faith based contests going and it has just been great to read the entries. I have been thinking of a different kind of Christian contest that we could have. What I have decided on is that I would like for you to write about your favorite Bible character.
I have different options for doing this...
1) Write as if you were them. Make your poem personal and describe how you think they feel, or felt during a particular time.
2) Write about how you identify with this person, in what ways are you alike or different than they are.
3) Write about the lesson that we can learn from them or their experience. Tell about how it applies to us today.
Well, that's it for options now for the rules.
1) Part of my reason for this contest is so that we can all learn something or perhaps be uplifted. So, I would like for you to read and comment on at least two other entries. Put who you read in your author's comment box.
2) Please use spell check and don't use chat language or sticky caps. I don't feel that they fit this category.
3) I don't think I should need to say this, but just in case, do not write this in a way that it would be classified as adult and also do not use vulgar language.
*Note: This is for Christians from a believer's perspective. I do not want any entries into why you do not believe or making fun of the Bible. Any thing entered of this type will be disqualified.
Also, there is no need for anyone to enlighten me as to how I am being unfair in having this open only to Christians. What I want is Christian poems, so obviously, one needs to be a Christian to write them. If you do not like my contest, or do not fit in my contest, there are many others for you to choose from.

I am sorry that I am slow in judging and did not comment on each entry in the way they deserved. Due to a personal crisis it could not be avoided.

I will have to come back to enter this. I already have my favorite picked. I've benn learning about him all year in Bible Study and I think he is so inspirational. You are correct and it is wonderful reading the trlty Spritual Christian poetry. It keeps Christ in your sight. May God Bless this contest with wondeful entries and enjoy reading!

Rats, Sis! I have the perfect poem but you aren't allowing prewrites and I don't know if I'll have time to come up with something new. I've just about covered all the key characters of the Bible.

Hi Miss Bonnie, I have no doubt that you have the Bible covered, some characters more than once. LOL I seriously thought about prewrites, but then I decided no, because I would probably get more poems than I can handle. There are quite a few new people here now who are Christians, so I thought that would kind of even the board also. Like you, I have all these prewritten poems that I could choose from that a new person would not have had. Aunt Penny I would enter this but I fear I don't know much about the Biblical (sp?) characters. I know Jesus, Mary and Joseph and I fear it would come out all wrong. I am too much of a joker lately (tends to happen when I'm upset over something) and I'd probably make a humorous piece about how I was once call Virgin Mary but suddenly that turned around. LOL! Anyways, great job and if I can think of anyone that may want to enter, I will surely send them over.

I'm not Christian, but I read the Bible because I was interested in learning what the Christians get faith from. There are some interesting characters in there. Could I enter?
