Hello. This contest is very personal to me...let me tell you why:
I just planted my garden, and I am eager to make some artwork to hang on the fence behind it. The garden consists of yellow lilies, a butterfly bush that blooms lavendar flowers, and some purple gladiolus. I just came up with the idea to have some poetry incorporated into the artwork. What I want is a poem that encourages my garden to grow and flourish. Whoever wins will have their poem featured on my author's page and on my fence.
I like original poetry, something that is unique. Just be yourself and write something beautiful...something from your heart. I might even use the second and third place winners for my other pieces of artwork...I haven't totally decided yet, but I probably will.
The only rule is that you stick to the topic. If you have any questions, just ask.
Good luck to everyone!
Love and Blessings, Ashlee

I'm so happy to see the contest is up
and your Garden will will be so lovely... and I love the colors already... I have a few plaques myself in my garden, 4 windchimes, and I have this beautiful angel about 3 feet tall playing a harp which is a windchime
and the wind has been blowing the past two days, I think the chimes are calling me to come out and plant the flowers
All the best sweetie, this will be a wonderful contest, much love and many blessings, Annie

I think my favourite poems are ones about "the garden". This magnificent Creation, so full of beauty and wonder, provides ample inspiration to last us a life time. Please enjoy your garden as I do mine.;f

What a wonderful idea for a garden and a contest. I have the perfect piece but sadly you are not allowing prewrites this time, so I will wish you a good contest and hope your garden blooms more beautiful than any you have ever seen.

Unique!
What a great idea! I live way up in a Northern forest where it is difficult to grow flowers. Two years ago, I was at the Sunshine Coast and I collected 4 - 6' pieces of cedar drift wood. I did my own little stonehenge and planted ferns and vines that come from the wild. It took two trips from B.C. to Alberta. But the outcome was awesome.
Great contest idea!!!! -
Wow...thanks for the gold, Ashlee...there may have only been four poems, but those other three were awesome, too!!! I appreciate ya, Poet...& Hope your Garden blooms infinitely...Well done, one & all!!!

It makes it very special for me. I'll try to read some of your work today.....Thanks again... Tara
