It's the right thing to do to give you a comment when it has nothing to do with the contest at all? Maybe if it was based on your poetry in some way, but I don't agree with what you said. Just my opinion though. I personally don't like it when people use that rule becuase it seems to be just a lame way to beg for comments and that's really not fair. People shouldn't have to give you comments just to enter a contest because it has nothing to do with what the contest is about. I'm sorry if you don't feel the same, but to me, it's just a lame excuse to get comments on your stuff. You'd probably get better comments without making people do it because when they have to, it makes it seem more like a chore and you are often left with a comment saying 'Good work, keep writing'. Not much of a comment, if you ask me, so I really don't see the point of the rule for many reasons. Anyway, I'm wondering now if this'll get me disqualified if I comment and enter after posting this. Not that it really matters anyway. Some good quotes here that I could get inspiration from. Especially the one that people would get brownie points for.

Well no it doesn't completely have to do with the contest and i hope if someone is going to comment they will put more effort in to it (if not please don't bother). But honestly if i am going to take the time and effort to go through everyones poems they enter and put an honest critique then is it that much to ask that they take the time to read one of my poems and one of their fellow contestants poems. Honestly I am trying to get AP to comment more going around it helps with improvement.But if you don't feel the need to do it don't it was just a simple request of mine.

The way I see it is that if you run a contest, then you should be willing to accept the responisiblity for it without feeling the need for getting something in return. Plus, no one is exactly forcing you to comment on each and every entry. That is actually your choice and having it as arule to comment on one of your poems has nothing to do with the contest at all. I understand the contestants commenting on other contestants though. It just annoys that so many people mae it a rule to comment on their poetry when it shouldn't have anything to do with it at all. Most people would leave a better comment if they actually want to comment on something. In any case, I still follow the contest's rules, though it really bugs me that that sort of rule is allowed.

Use as many quotes as you would like it doesn't bother me as well as poems. and do what you want i just want to see how you can be inspired by the quotes i have provided. I am sorry if i answered you too late. Looog week but i am planning on possibly extending the contest due to lack of entry's and other stuff. Hope I answered you questions if i didn't just IM me.
