I have always been fascinated by Jules Verne and the many stories I have read on Time travel. I was talking to my friend and a wonderful poet XSarhaX and she and I have agreed to judge this adventure poetry...
So come on fellow Portal lovers ..lets travel to or lets travel from in good ol prose style...Any form is acceptable but it must have a Time travel theme..
We will endeavour to judge this competition by the end of this month , time permitting but it may just go over. a LITTLE HINT XSaraX will be the influential Judge so be nice to her and maybe check out her site ..I think you will be suitably impressed...
Rules..Sorry even a freedom loving person like me has some rules
1/ No sticky Caps
2/ No Swearing..I want the children to enter this and it would be unfair if they could not read the opposition, plus I think there are plenty of other words in the Dictionary that have a similar effect..
3/ A short story is OK but please no Tolstoy Novels as time will be limited and we want to comment and read EVERYBODYS work..
4/Please comment on at least one other persons work ....it is just common courtesy...
Points will be awarded as follows:
First Prize Gold Cup & 600 points
Second Prize Silver Cup & 300 Points
Third Prize ..Bronze Cup & 100 Points
We will try make honorable mentions if we get the right response and more points may be allocated....
GOOD LUCK and We look forward to reading your poems
I have decided to extend the competition for 2 days so get thise entries in NOW ..

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on February 1, 2005
- Rewards: Gold: 900
- Final notes: I have just read all of the entries to the contest. I enjoyed them all, but the three I felt fit the time machine theme the best were
1. "Draining life away" by Justin.
2. "To Be A Child Again." By Sum1sDreamers.
3. "My Time Machine" by StrawberryKiss.
I think that Justin deserves the first place trophy because his piece had the biggest impact on me. It focused more on the future, which I feel that's what we'd use a time machine for. 2nd place to Sum1sDreamers because it reminded me of childhood life, which is a snap to the past. 3rd to My Time Machine because the imagery and the wording was very simple but yet sweet. When I finished reading it, I was like "Wow. I like this."

To be a child again would mean I'd be free.
Free as a butterfly, a happy little me.• Commented on by judge. -
STROLLING BENEATH BLUE SKIES: whence to see two trees
a natural ecstasy...hugged by ivy leaves• Commented on by judge. -
Until it fills the soul with its tender touch
Feelings awaken by tunes of notes• Commented on by judge.
