Okay. I love challenging people and that's what I shall do here!
If you don't like challenges, then: Sorry! I don't want you here. Simple as that. I try very hard to keep my contest bare-fact easy in how they're read, but pretty difficult in how to enter. That's just the way it works. I like challenging works that will make me want to read them.
The little faces or whatever are different per section of this contest. This will make it a lot easier for you to find whatever it is in this contest you are looking for.
Basically, I have this contest format all worked out, see, and that means it's easier for me to write it and easier for you, dearest poets, to read and find what you need in it.
1. Introduction 2. Options (
) 3. Listings (
or
) 4. Regulations (
) 5. Rules (
) 6. Final Comments 7. Later Editings (
)
Options: These are the first thing you choose. You must write in this thought.
Listings: These are the poets on this site that I have some affiliation with. You must choose a poet and use them however the option you chose requires you to use them.
Regulations: These are breakable "rules." You can do or not do these.
Rules: These are dis-qualifier "rules." You must do these or you are DQ'd.
Final Comments: This is important information that you may need during this contest.
Simple, yes? Oky...if you didn't understand that, I'm sorry, but you'll just have to reread it until you do.
-->OPTIONS
1. Choosing a writer, select a WORK and use its title in your poem. If it is more than one word, you can split them up, but no altering them in any form. You MUST capitalize these words so that I may see them easily. Either just before or after your write, you need to mention who the writer is and the title name. This can also be in your comment box. The letters of each word must be adjacent either going right to left on the same line, or top to bottom as in an acrostic.
-->EXAMPLE: "And Still the Rain Pours Down" by masterblaster
DOWN the river flows
AND STILL THE RAIN POURS onward
Gently running by
2. Choosing two writers, use their NAMES in your work. This can be any type of work, story, column, poem, whatever. You may cut up names with spaces in them but none of the others. Un/capitializing their names will not count.
-->EXAMPLE: Eyes like ice and Lionheart
With ice from the depths,
Eyes from the winds,
Lionheart and dreams.
They are all like one
As it may so seem.
(So Eyes like ice can be separated because of
spaces, but Lionheart may not because it's
one word)
->PLACE NAMES IN COMMENT BOX
3. Read a choosen writer's bio-page (some or all or whatever) and create a write that is answering this question: Who?
-->EXAMPLE: If you chose dragondancer, PLEASE SEE POEM TITLED "Who"
allpoetry.com/Poem/892403 (for example)
4. The colors on the chosen writer's page. Take those and write something about them.
-->EXAMPLE: melon (using red and green with watermelon backdrop)
Within the haze of steamy jungle
Overlooked by the mountains' grumble.
Let the blackened seeds so tremble
That is what it should resemble.
5. For all of you with names below. If you are below on either/both list(s) then here's your challenge: You must select yourself and/or me and do one of the options above.
-->EXAMPLE: chose me or yourself
select one of the other options and continue
~~Listings~~
Okay. That should be everything. These are names of poets that are either my favorites, or I am a favorite of theirs. If you, for some reason feel that I've skipped over someone here that ought to be part of my favorite list, that's too bad. I will not add more than the selection here. However, I will gladly add more people to my favorites listings.

~@~ REGULATIONS ~@~
Okay, these you can break into a gazillion peice or whatever. I separate these from the actual rules so that you may know that you don't have to do them, but the rules you MUST do.
1. Commenting. If you comment on my work or another entry, that is fine. It's not needed, but it is always greatly appreciated.
2. Giving Points. If you send me points for this contest or for whatever reason, they are always welcome, but they shall not make you more eligible...they will however, convince me to send out honorable mentions at the end if I get enough.
3. Word of Mouth. Telling someone else about this contest and getting them to enter will earn you points. You must get them to enter something valid.
4. Questionaire. If you need help or a pre-judging critique or whatever that you think I may aid you in this contest with, please send either an IM or leave a comment on this contest and I shall answer to the best of my knowledge and abilities. (These are not unlimited, but I should know how this contest works more so than anyone else)
RULES
So, I know everyone dislikes these things and all, but they are here for a very good reasoning: I like getting works I WANT to read and I like people to be glad and unoffended when I leave comments/critiques on their work.
1. Grammaticks. A basic sense of where a period or a comma goes is a must. If you complain that my works aren't as good as how I critique others, remember this: I don't grade my works in contest!
2. Sticky Caps. I don't like them. Capitalize only what ought to be. (Beginning of sentences, names, etc)
3. Comment Box. You MUST use your comment box to state the writer(s) you have chosen and the work's title (if applicable).
4. Prewrites are not allowed because if you have actually done this in a previous work, I'm not only amazed, but I would like you go back to wherever you are stalking me and behave.
5. Negative and/or Non-Building Comments. I don't like mean comments or whatever you want to call it. If you leave a note via IM or commentary, then you're DQ'd. I will not deal with people that are rude or what have you.
6. If you have any trouble or wish for a pre-judging critique (these are very very helpful, by the way) please IM or leave a comment to dragondancer so that you will receive this. (It is also possible that doing so will give you extra points, and possible sponsorship or two)
7. The last sentence in the first paragraph. Write that in your comment box.
8. Anything over PG-18 will be DQ'd unless it is really really really good. That means if it were in a movie or some such and someone over 18 wasn't allowed in alone, it's not acceptable unless it's really really really good.
9. All writes are allowed as long as they fit the stuff above and are somewhat understandable. I don't mean that I want something a first grader could read, but not something that seems to be either hyper-college or rocket scientist based either.
^^^^Final Comments^^^^
Remember, now, no complaining! Have fun, and if you have any suggestions, leave a comment below and tell me! I'm always up for interesting thoughts!
First Place GETS Gold Trophy will recieve the 300 points
Second Place GETS Silver Trophy will recieve 125 points
Third Place GETS Bronze Trophy will recieve 100 points
Fourth Place GETS 75 points
Fifth Place GETS 25 points
Sixth Place GETS Applause
Seventh Place GETS Applause
Eighth Place and onward will recieve points depending on if there are that many entries and whether I have anymore points.
That's 625 points, people. Not exactly the smallest sum (nor the biggest) in the world!
If the same person wins more than one winning position, they will recieve the higher and not the lower amount a points only. Meaning if you get Gold and Silver, you get the trophies but only 300 points.
Enjoy the challenge, writers, and may I gain some interesting reads from this creation!

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on February 20, 2005
- Rewards: Gold: 300
- Final notes: Okay. No more seem to want to enter so it's closing now. I reread everyone's work and looked to make certain that people followed my rules. I don't bend my rules for anyone unless there is an extremely good reason, and there wasn't any that I saw here that I needed to bend rules for anyway. If you aren't mentioned in my closing notes, then you were disqualified for not completing all of the rules. Remember, writers, I have rules to make it easier on me and understandable to you. Anyway, countrybabe's work was amazingly good and I thought both were so wonderful I couldn't decide which would be second and which third. Lumen's masterpiece was marvelous too, but I just couldn't decide so I got my brother's aid on that. So Second, Third and Forth places were based off of my two brother's opinions and not my own. If you have complaints, I'm sorry, but I don't accept them.
Now then, to list all the finalists and their placesments...
First place is BreezeMeThrough with Happy Nightmares
Second place is countrybabe with A Poet's Heart (Acrostic)
Third place is countrybabe with Morning Kisses (Acrostic)
Fourth place is Lumen with Special Treasure
Fifth place is jezebeltoxyx with Icing
Unless you are the first place winner, you must leave a note in either an IM or a comment on this work to gain the points accorded to you by placing in this work.*
And I hereby call this contest to a close. Congrats to all you finalists and a box of kleenex to all those that were DQ'd or otherwise did not place.
Check back soon for my new contest starting just as soon as I'm finished typing it up!

Hey there DD. Thank your brothers for the second and third placings I got in this contest will ya..and thank you sooooooo much for the kind words in the final notes.
One question though...is this all I had to do to get my points or did you want us to comment on the winning poem? Just curious is all.
Your friend always
CB

Thanx
Congrats, poet!
-
Thanx
I'll do that, cb!
They said that you'd probably love me for that! I always go to them if I have difficulty with a write. It's really nice having family aid...of course, it's better having other poets help me, but that doesn't always happen. Such is the way, I suppose! sigh Oh yes, and you don't have to comment on the winning write to gain your said points. I just wanted a note via IM or on this contest itself to let me know that you actually looked at it once more and all that. Else...shrug...you don't get points. Saves me points and shows me who was serious about my contest. Thanx for entering those two most lovely works!
