Theory Of The Afterlife and Religion
By Travis Weston
------------------------------------

Christians believe that when they die they are judged and the pure hearts are granted access to heaven. Wiccans believe in reincarnation, the act of giving ones soul to another body. Buddhists similarly believe in reincarnation, but only in the search for nirvana. Atheists don’t believe in religion. Most atheists aren’t atheists at all. Most people who call themselves atheists are really Agnostics. Agnostics are between religions, and don’t know what to believe in.
My theory of the afterlife is simple, but to understand it fully you must also understand what I believe the soul to be. The soul is your spirit; your spirit is your mind, your beliefs; the energy that powers your body. That is what I believe the soul to be.
If you now can understand my theory of the soul, then you will be able to understand my theory of the afterlife. I believe that when a person dies their soul is pushed from their body. I believe that—since your soul is your beliefs—if you believe you will be judged for the right to go to heaven then you will be judged. I believe that if you believe in reincarnation then your soul will be transferred to another’s body, a new birth.
And then there is the question of Atheists. Where do these religion-less souls go after they die? Well, I believe that those that aren’t really atheists—those that are really Agnostics—are those that become ghosts, apparitions—spirits of the night.
But it has also been said that those that are close to death find religion, but you will never find something if you aren’t looking. So, for the Agnostics that die, they either find a religion or wander the world in search; hence the existence of ghosts.
For Atheists, who believe they will just die, and there will be no afterlife, they reach what I call “Infinity.” Infinity is the uber-death; it is the ultimate nothing. When you reach Infinity you don’t know it. Your spirit stops all existence. There is nothing after Infinity, your spirit is broken down and reused in the patent form of life.
Now you may be wondering, with so many Christian souls around, how is the population increasing? If only the reincarnated souls are being born again, how is it that the population of the world is at an all-time high? I never said that the reincarnated were the only being born. Just as you can reach Infinity, your soul can also be born, created out of the atheists and from the energy of the universe itself.
And for those that say if atheists have no religion, and they don’t believe in the afterlife, how can you say there is an afterlife? Infinity is not a religion. Infinity is the absence of religion. When you reach Infinity your spirit is broken down, as I said before. It is broken down and reused.

Oh, to be so happy as to be able to express myself so people would understand. But, alas, I have not. You may be the only one to understand. This is a little misleading, maybe I should explain a little more on what my theory of the soul is. I believe the soul is not just your life force, it is your beliefs, your beliefs make you human, make you alive. Even if you don't believe in religion then you have a belief, you believe there is NO religion. Well, I think that whatever happens, your beliefs show through when you die, and whatever you believe will happen--be it being judged, or be it reincarnation--then whatever you think will happen, WILL HAPPEN. It's not a matter of who is right, it's a matter of WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER. Do you love the earth so much that you believe you will be reincarnated? Do you think the idea of eternal bliss and happiness in heaven is right for you? That is what I believe in. It is my own little religion, Everythingism.

    Soul Searching

    Freedom Fighter:

It appears that your soul is also seeking freedom. You have summed up the world religions in this piece. But the question is, which theory actually brings about a peace in ones life. I believe that we are 3 dimensional beings made in the image of the Triune God the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost, therefore mind, body, and soul. We are living souls housed in a body with a mind to determine our fate of heaven and hell, good and evil, no purgatory. I believe that your spirit man is leading you and a life changing journey. Keep looking, seeking searching, and finding the keys to the kingdom! Well done!

I'm not sure what to say on this one. Religion and spirituality is something That I have searched, investigated and faced my own skeptism. I find bits and pieces from many various beliefs that 'make sense'. I suppose in the end - as long as someone is peaceful in what they believe and have inner peace - thats what is impotant on this earth. .. but - I also think - what if we end up to be wrong - when we die ... eeeek

trhis is a very interesting theory indeed. Yes the wiccans and pagans belive in reincarnation, like alot of religions do. there is also a cylce...birth life, death, rebirth, that I have found alot of people belive in as well. Ghost are not those entities of people that are between religions, a ghost is a spirit that were killed in a horriffic manner or died before their time. This comentary does make you think, however. it was a pleasure

i'm not sure it will be as such, whatever people believe in that happens, but some nice thoughts. i would say i am agnostic but i have a strong belief in reincarnation, i think we have all been here for time.

Thank you so much for your comments. They mean a lot to me. And for you soul already reaching infinity, I don't think so. Even in life it may seem like nothing good can come about, but if you just work towards finding a better way of living then you will find a better way. Even if you die in this terrible state, whos to say death is anything to fear or even to be scared of. The ancient Egyptians looked forward to death, it was a thought that was constantly on their minds. They accepted it. The pyramids were monuments to the gods if you will. So, basically what I'm saying, whenever you feel bad, just remember that there will always be something to look forward to. One of my favorite quotes is something a teacher once told me. He said, "Through the blackest of nights, there will always be a light in the morning." When I became suicidal I found out the true meaning of that quote.

If you have any suggestions as to what I should call it then please tell me, because I chose infinity because it was a word that I could picture being there, the infinite. The black hole of life. I dunno.

I'm just curious as to why you chose the word "infinity" in that way. Infinity is a concept of something unlimited, a number without number, if you will. To me, the idea of a soul reaching infinity means it has awareness of all the universe, it stretches to ecompass everything that is, living and unliving. That's the antithesis of your postulate.

    So, why infinity?

hehehe. I think my soul has unfotunately already in this state, and just my body exists

This was interesting. True it is speculation, but you should read Augustines view of angels- it is PURE speculation- and yet it dominated the church FOREVER. He got a way with it because he was a theologian.

Anyway, there are infinite ways the mind could spin anything, so the truth is, who really knows?

Interesting but all speculation. Even speculation has to be based on something. For example the Bible says that God breathed into the man created from dust and he became a living soul, not that he has a soul. Yet the concept of having a soul fits better in the minds of people who don't really dig out the roots of these things. And infinity is what we have with the number of speculations that can be made without a real foundation. Don't take that as a smart remark. I know it may sound that way but I don't mean it that way.

    Thought Provoking

Well, I don't know what to say except that you have interjected some very thought provoking ideas that sounds like you have given serious thought to and then made some very fascinating hypotheses. Very interesting deductions.
