Our Relationship

We walk upon the sand, dance in the sun
Chase cumulus clouds and bask in our fun
We sip cappuccinos, eat hot-cross buns
Speak of yesterdays in our coded puns
Our lives seemed filled with nothing but reruns
Your words hit my ears like a stunning gun
My old age for you is now overdone
I ate my ice cream, you drank a milkshake
Ate magic cookies that Alice had baked
I cried a river, you built me a lake
I sold you my soul, it was yours to take
Into my heart you drove the wooden stake
My life vein collapsed, frees me from the ache
There was no one to see me at my wake

Embrace me within your muscular arms

I am so fragile and I am so weak
I have not been strong these last couple days
I am to remain silent, not to speak
As mortality has its human way.
