Media Violence Causes Negative Effects
{Five-Paragraph Essay}

When born in this world, growing up happens around the media, things such as news, movies, television with all of them containing violence which gives off a negative effect. The negative effect is different for everyone. Children get the effect at a lower level. Teenagers, on the other hand, have peer pressure and stress riding along sides what they see and think they want to be off media. The chances are if you’re affected in you younger years, adult years won't be any easier.

As a child, children don't understand the world around or what goes on. Children watch the media, their choice mainly being cartoons, and sadly though, these cartoons contain violence, something children don't yet understand. They see and want to be what they see. When asked what toy or toys they want they mainly might ask for the " real-Life-Violence" toys, things such as guns or fake knives. When given these toys, they don't understand what damages can be caused by these toys. Children grow into their teenage life’s and still may not know what they play or played with, can hurt someone, if they weren’t toys.

Teenagers see the world differently when anyone else.  They are blinded by peer pressure, stress ,, and what they see in the media.  The media for teenagers goes from shows like C.S.I. and Charmed to movies like James Bond.  Images like these are already built into their conscious, but not like the horrible things they are.  As children they saw and believed the violence was cool, now older , maybe only a little more mature and they see and think its great. Some kids don't understand right from wrong when dealing with violence. Others go to far, b the blindness from the worst things in life like stress or peer pressure they can't see the good things in their life, like the future and use these weapons to cause a new violence -  suicide. Sometimes i wonder if violence was never shown in cartoons, movies, shows, or even commercials, if some teenagers wouldn't choose that route. Though for the ones who make it , some still don't understand when they take the exit on their future road titled adulthood, what violence really is, and what it really causes.

While others adults are on their way, having realized right from wrong there's still the group of adults who got off this exit ramp onto the adult highway not realizing what it really is, or let alone what violence is and causes. Unlike the others they haven’t dug out the concept that violence isn’t wrong, but instead just keep adding onto it. But the blindfold hasn't slipped beyond the eyes yet, these adults are continuing to see these images and use them in their regular lives. Some get caught and straighten out, but sadly it’s too late sometimes for a new beginning filling in the hole that jail dug out in the conscious, cause for some of the stubborn ones, losing circulation to their head from their blindfolds, not letting themselves understand what they are seeing in front of them. They’re conscious of violence isn’t buried with dirt, it’s buried with cement; it’s not changing. Bottom line here is, that no matter what, we go through life with those who learn to understand and start a new beginning, and others who have started out on the wrong track, and simply don’t know how to turn around. Sad but true, this is the world we have.

Media violence gives off a negative effect like a chain reaction. Children get introduced to it, believe it cool. If children didn’t get shown these cartoons, they might not choose those violent toys. Teenagers, probably introduced to media violence in their childhood, and add onto what they think they already know about media violence. If media violence images weren’t shown so much to teenagers, they might not take certain bad choices, making it to adulthood alive. Adults either grow up and enter adulthood knowing right from wrong or don’t. They learn the difference in jail, if not already as a teenager, though some never straighten out. The bottom line is media violence causes negative effects, no questions asked. But the real question is , do you want your child to grow into a teenagers and use violence or go to jail as an adult to straighten out? Think About It.This was a school assingment, and i thought i would share it with you.

    Though Provoking

    There is no doubt media violence has a very negative affect; however, it is cumulative from the cradle up, thus only appears to have a greater impact on teens and still escalating into adulthood. Also, children who are raised on Biblical principals and to think for themselves and taught how to make wise choices are not blinded by peer pressure. Only trouble teens are blinded. This is, however, a very thought provoking article: we really do need to stand up for NO VIOLENCE. ~~BonnieQ, free registered Christian Counselor, author, editor, speaker, director
