The 'Dream Refrain' Poetry Form.

A new, interesting, rhyme/meter form invented by myself.

Dream Refrain is a form that I invented on an inspiration. A poetic line entered my mind and the poem practically wrote itself from there. I liked the form that 'appeared' so much that I decided to write out the details (with an example given) so that others may use, be challenged by, and enjoy the new form as well.

Each stanza of Dream Refrain consists of a few unique parts, which I will describe. The first part, which consists of the first two lines, is the same in the first three stanzas (there are four, and we'll get to that later). In the first three stanzas, the first two lines of each stanza consists of two six-syllable rhymed lines.

The second part of each stanza consists of the second set of lines. This part of the stanza is the same for all four stanzas. The first of these lines (line three in each stanza) consists of seven syllables, and the last word of this line is always the same throughout the poem. The fourth line of each stanza is the refrain-phrase of the poem, the phrase that is repeated at the end of every stanza. The fourth line consists of six syllables and always rhymes with the third line.

The fourth stanza is a little different. The rhyme scheme is the same, but instead of consisting of 6,6,7,6 syllables in each line, respectively, it consists of 7,7,7,6 lines in each stanza, respectively.
