Here in a few months, I will be putting some personal plans in real life in motion.
I will hopefully, if everything pans out, and I get the right kind of help be going back to school.
I plan to pursue 2 different AS degrees:
Business management
Automotive technology
plus a few added certifications, such as my ASE (Automotive service)
I may even pursue this further if all goes well.
I won't be giving up writing completely, but it will make my posting my poetry here, a lot more sparse. Plus, having health concerns on top of a full time job, which I'll be getting a promotion soon in, is going to make my time here a tight squeeze at best. My goal eventually is to open my own shop, that is gender friendly in this area as far as hiring practices,(a serious lack where I live). If I find other qualified female mechanics, once I have the business opened, then I might have some opportunities for them as well as qualified male mechanics. You would think in this day and age, that it doesn't make a difference in this field or any field of work, but alas, I have encountered bias, and I have every intention on changing the automotive field. ( At least in my neck of the woods.
) Up to and including educating myself, and those who work for me on alternative energy fueled vehicles, as well as combustion-styled engines. More and more the industry is changing towards this end, and I for one, would like to keep up with the times. With the new technologies, already in place and being applied to our newly introduced makes and models, there will be a higher demand for those with the skills. I hope I can be one of those pioneering these endeavors.
I already have people approaching me about bringing me their vehicles loyally, if I do open a shop. It's a very broad potential customer base.

You better not give up writing completely, or I will have to intervene and kick your butt!
