) on AP. A lot of poets come to the O's because they want and need feedback to improve their work, and IMO anyway, there's no better single round contest on AP where they can do that. Sure, there are some who simply want to showcase their work, which is always a joy to read. But the majority...I think they want the tough but honest feedback more than anything. I have watched so many poets improve their writing and eventually win a PO gold with determination and work, including a very talented 9 year old! Now how cool is that?
