Where did you grow up?
In North Carolina, where I have lived all my life.
What is the first thing you remember that perked your interest in writing?
Actually, I began writing after the death of my father. I found it a great way to release the overwhelming feeling of grief. Although I admit I have so much to learn where writing is concerned, I do believe that true poetry comes from one's soul.
Did you go to college/university?
I attended college only to get my high school diploma as I was forced to quit school early to care for my dad.
If so, what was your major?
Aside from obtaining my GED, I took First Aid/CPR classes is all.
Outside of college, how have you educated yourself beyond secondary school?
Again, it was medical related..learning how to administer IV's, give meds, etc, with Hospice, while helping out with my sister-in-law who was diagnosed with terminal cancer at the age of 31.
What’s your favorite color?
Bland I know lol but my favorite color is brown. As I have a love for oil painting, I like most any color
Favorite Food?
I would have to say steak and/or seafood. But definitely can't leave out chocolate!!
Favorite Pastime?
Oil painting, reading, writing, watching suspense movies
Favorite Music?
Soft rock, pop, anything really except bluegrass and rap.
Favorite Poet ?
Honestly, I don't have a favorite..aside from the talents of AP.
Favorite Movie?
Any good suspense movie!!
Favorite Book ?
I have to admit I'm a Historical Romance fanatic. They are my all time favorite.

Give me a brief rundown of your history on AP. In other words, how did you get here?
A dear friend of mine introduced me to this site back in February, and I have been addicted ever since.
How long have you been a member of All Poetry?
Since February 2008
About Your Poetry :
When did you first begin to write?
I suppose the love of poetry actually grew once I started here on AP and was surrounded by so much talent..which not only inspired, but helped me learn so much.
What kind of poetry do you write the most?
I'm not sure I have one particular kind, mostly what either a prompt says to me, or something that comes from my life's experiences and heart.
Who are your influences?
My influences are my dear friends here on AP .
What feeds your desire to continue writing poetry ?
I have found writing to be such a great escape from the everyday hassles of life..whether it be my chronic pain, or just a means to pass lonely hours.

I have a dog, a labrador.
Talents?
Not sure I have any real talents, just try to make the most of each day.
Jobs?
I previously had owned/managed a restaurant, when not caring for ill family members, but I am now disabled.
What advice would you give to growing poets ?
To let your heart guide you. As stated earlier, my belief is poetry is what comes from one's heart and soul.
Anything else you can think of?
Live, be happy and give thanks, as it could always be worse!
