For chat complaints, please click "Rules / Complaints" to the right of the Chatterbox 'Go' button.

Moderators will be watching the the log of complaints, and will fine/ban/yell at people who are making inaccurate complaints.
We'll be experimenting with how many complaints to require before a ban and other tweaks to make it most effective.
Other small changes include things like trying out the "next by poet" link above the rest of the "view options". For greeters, there is also a new way to browse poetry by new members.

The chatroom is a common source of frustration on Allpoetry, and we've launched a new system where you get to be the chat moderator. Anyone can make anonymous complaints, and users who get multiple complaints will be given a short chat ban. Also, we've lowered purchasing point costs quite a bit, so get 'em while they're hot! And made countless other little site-tweaks and fixes that you will hopefully enjoy.

A problem with lowering the purchase price of points is .. now it's going to be even harder for those of us who can't afford to buy points with cash to afford to get our poems featured. 15$ might not seem like a lot to most of you, but to me it means having enough money for food, for myself, my boyfriend, and our 3 kids. I think this will only lead to fewer comments of merit, and extravagantly high featured poetry prices .. doesn't really seem like that great of a deal to me. Whatever happened to "get rewarded for interacting with people on the site"? Sounds like it's become "get rewarded for paying my bills!". -

I can see both sides to this. I can only tell you though that featuring your poetry is one of the worst ways to get comments. You mentioned getting rewarded for interacting with people on the site, well there is how you get your comments, not by paying for them!
Give up on featuring, it's just a waste of time and points.
The lower cost for points will be good in that maybe more people will host good and better contests. Featuring isn't all points are used for. -

Actually, I don't feature my poetry, only my contests .. I was just using that as an example. I do comment on other's works, and that is how I get my points, I only feel that giving points for monetary gain doesn't do anything to help the site. Yes, it will lead to more contests, but that doesn't imply they will be better .. if anything, I would think the quality would be lower, because people won't value the points spent in the contests .. and entries may be fewer, because much of the reason people enter contests is to win points, and it's "easier" to just pay for them.

I don't know. I think those points that actually cost something ( and were not just gotten from regular use of the site) would be valued more.
Personally, I don't think it will change much of anything except make some people happy and able to buy more points. And I don't think it will hurt anyone who can't or doesn't want to. -

I can see your point .. I guess how it does, or does not, affect things remains to be seen! I'm just one of those old AP fogies who thinks "the way it used to be" is the best way, I guess!

I really like the new system for Greeters in viewing new poems. It works really well.
Suggestion, I would say an even or depending on your thoughts lol odd number as five complaints gets you a temp CB ban.
