First off, I will apologize for not posting this sooner. I have a life, aka my play right now & it’s production week. Oh the joys of hell. Oh the joys.
On the matter of Aruna, Bri & Ryan, I have news, of course. Aruna & Ryan failed to vote. I’m sorry, but if they aren’t on enough to even vote for themselves, that’s elimination in my book. & that’s exactly what it is. Aruna & Ryan have been eliminated from project poetry.
But for Bri, her fate is still in your hands. The results were the following:
11 yes. 9 no.
[soda fight, lavender, mud, butthead, collection, compass, confusion, bleak, pretzel, mob & bettlejuice,
Carrot cake, code, pacemaker, nikel, nexus, dick, coral, dinosaur, X]
Aruna & Ryan’s numbers:
13, 7
& 11,9
[If you want a breakdown, message me.
]That means, Bri, you are still able to participate in project poetry. Make sure you get your stuff done though. I understand how life gets busy.
I forgot to mention this. Top collab honors this round go to:
Justin & Kevin. You blended amazingly & yet, left an impression on me still. :]
As for the top individual poems, I am sorry guys, but I haven’t had the time to read through them. I’ve been so swamped with play, that I couldn’t judge them.
I just got done reading through them though. Most were average, but I did find a top five.
In fifth is
Matt. I loved your simple but effective images.
Fourth:
Mel. Your poem was hot in a metaphoric, sexy way. Haha
Third:
Justin. Your play on the “sleeper cell” was really amazing.
Second is:
Shirley. Hot, but yet, metaphoric as well. Really stuck with me, hon.
& in first, the winner of the individual challenge:
Pu. Your take on the blood diamonds was so, I just loved everything about it. A nice blend of device, emotion & style.
Congrats to all the safe poets.
As for the bottom poems, the peer votes were interesting to me, to say the least. It was interesting to see everyone’s logic.
The voting breakdown:
Christina:
0 votes. Obviously, you’re safe. :]
Audri:
1 vote [confusion.]
Johanna:
2 votes [mob & coral]
Congrats you guys, you were the top three of the bottom six, if that makes sense. Either way, you are safe this round. :]
I don’t feel like uber dragging this out, so I will continue with this in reverse style.
4 votes:
Meg [pretzel, dinosaur, butthead & lavender.]
Make sure you think outside the box & keep your poetry clean & styled. :]
Our second to last place, with 5 votes:
Stef [bleak, nexus, dick, compass & soda fight]
Which means, with seven votes, Wayne, you have been eliminated from project poetry. You seem to think that your style didn’t fit this contest. I think you had a place here, but you seem to have given up anyways. You brought a different flavor to the table.
[carrot cake, bettlejuice, code, pacemaker, nikel, collection, mud]
As for my decision, this is… it is a personal thing for me because I have so much respect & care for this person a lot. But the bottom poet for this round, in my book was:
Meg.
Meg, you are one of my good friends on & off AP & I don’t want this to come between us. I care for you immensely & you really do have a ton of talent. This week was just a rough one. <3
Congrats to everyone safe & goodbye to the eliminated poets. I will leave them in the group for about a day & then they will exit/I will exit them myself. Please leave any messages or such on the page if your heart so desires. I will have the next round up later tonight.
ps: Sorry for any spelling mistakes. It's ridiculous how spellcheck thinks everything is spelt wrong.
-Chase
