THE CHALLENGE!

This round will judge your teamwork, but also allow you to show yourself more individually and what you can do while still working with people. It will also test your ability to use metaphor.

For this round you will write a « section » poem (where each part is divided into a section, to show a different part in a poetic story, string of thoughts, events, etc). Tribe Litterea will have seven parts and Tribe Poeta will have nine. (This may be a disadvantage or maybe an advantage, depending on how you use it.) (One per poet.)

The whole poem a tribe writes together should cover one metaphor all together, the metaphor and what it is a metaphor to is up to you. But be careful; the piece should have depth and really mean something.

Along with this, each « section » should have it’s own seperate metaphor, for that certain part of the poetic story, event, etc.

This may be a difficult task, but with lots of thought and planning between your team, it could work out really well.



THE JUDGING RUBRIC!

Listen up! Pay attention! Something in the judging rubric is changing this round, as I re-evaluated the system, and since I am still working out the kinks got a wonderful suggestion from Bunny.

The group in a whole will not only be based on a whole rubric (witch for this round will go as so)

Piece seems as if it were written by one poet, not nine/seven: /20
Creativity, originality: /30
Phrasing, wording, etc: /30
Imagery: /30
Other poetic devices (except metaphor) : /10
Metaphor (overall one) : /50
Metaphor (individual ones) : /40
Emotional connection to piece/reaction : /35
Overall personal opinion on showcased talent: /25
TOTAL: /270

(Then, as usual, all four judging rubrics are taken for each piece. The highest rated total is dropped and lowest rated total is dropped for each piece, so were left with a grand total to be out of 540, and then we have a fair medium for each piece. The group with the losing score will be the losing tribe.)

But what is different is that each individual will be recieving a score out of 10 from each judge, based on what they wrote. So, in the losing tribe, the four poet who have the lowest scores out of 40 will be the bottom four.

The bottom four will then write individual new poems, out of that, it will be judged by the judges who is eliminated.

This will make the rounds go smoother, and also enforce you to put extra effort into your team pieces.

THE ELIMINATION!

TWO POETS again will be sent packing. (Based on if their tribe lost and out of 40 score and the bottom four new pieces.)


THE REWARD!

The winning tribe will have a contest opened for them in which they are allowed to write new pieces for. Then, just like a normal contest, they will be rewarded trophies.
