Well around december 2006 I wrote a poem for my late uncle, it was the first christmas that he would not be there joining us in person, I showed it to my friend sophie at school who I knew wrote poetry and she introduced me to the site, telling me that I would be good. At the beginning I was shy at first but it didn't take me long to enter contests and get to know people.

5. What advice would you give to growing poets ?
We all get criticised, but the thing is to look at it in a positive way. They are trying to help you improve but you have to remember your poetry should be personal to you. Write always from your heart because it's where the best poetry lives. I'm not the best speller or writer but I always listen to my heart and write from there.
6. Anything else you can think of.
Remember to have fun here aswell, I have made so many friends and have a huge AllPoetry family and I love each member a lot. I would most certainly be stuck without them as they have helped me through a lot. Sometimes it's just nice to sit and talk to people.
A Poem She Wrote : By Blushing bouquets; swept across my spine, are the tainted tingle of fresh kisses, that brewed within the cup of dawning days. The irresistible linger of fragrance, that leaps from the heat of ivory oil to caress each tensioned shoulder blade soft. Effortless; divine silks coat blank canvases with elegant lusts of shrouding fabric, that tenderly hugs the skin so warm.
Yet irresistible; devouring eyes sink within to the beauty's lullaby's of your breath, that ripens upon open pores so delicate. Deviant fingertips pasting the cracks with mere concentration of serenity that injects thy vined veins with roses. Blissful; I overdose upon sweetened words, that cowards me in a deep hypnotism...
...Leave me shrill in your tainted heart, whilst the lights lay dim and your softness strokes the pulse of my heart with hums... ...My soul within your palm. |
