What Is A Muse, Losing Inspiration, Childhood Abuse

This article is a bit ecletic touching on several topics but in the end related to expression and writing. I have included some links for positive thinking, spirit and healing. This is my first article so be advised critique is not needed. I love helping others by using what I have learned and giving away what has been given to me so be aware this is from my point of view.
Questions About Today's Muses & Blocks To Our Muse

Everyone's idea of a muse is uniquely personal to them and it should be so. I have a relationship with Christ and he and the Holy Spirit are my true inner muse. I also know that God created many things around us to provide inspiration like nature, other people, animals, the sky is the limit indeed! Even our own emotions can become a muse or "place of inspiration" for us. I believe there may be angels, guides and the like who help us along the way too. It is not for me to judge only to remain open for the wisdom to know individually and not judge other's beliefs.

I write many things out of the darkness I have experienced including my own abusive childhood however, I will never let it define me. I once feared writing it let alone posting it in AP. It takes so much courage to let pain out and then allow others to read it. It is our duty to show love to people that are trying to find healing by writing and not condemn or judge their entire person or spiritual place based on a painful poem. We also write dark things in the hope it will help someone else while it helps us. There does become a point though that we can wallow too much in darkness and actually reverse the way we intended to go. I feel that the gift of writing, even if we write like a two year old, is one of the most wonderful gifts God gave us.

As for losing our muse or inspiration, I'm not an expert but here my thoughts. When we endure painful things we can shut down or push away and not be aware we have. I've been so numb in my life that I have even feared joy and pleasure. I've hit this block more times than I want to admit and I've been in that numb for years at a time. I guess we call it a, "Dark night of the soul" or "Walking In the valley". This is a time when maybe our brain and or soul needs rest. If we feel this to be true than we should not fight it and let our sacred self be still. If you are trying to find your inspiration, "Muse" then I suggest; meditation, prayer, surrounding yourself with gentle music, candles, getting outdoors in nature, playing with a child and watching them laugh, watching youtube videos on the law of attraction, spiritual videos, the list is endless. If you need other ideas feel free to contact me, even if it's just to talk

Another very important practice towards opening which I suggest is to sit in a comfortable place with your eyes closed. Imagine yourself in a beautiful place, any place that you love and try to see your adult self or your child self and proceed to ask either one what they are feeling. Whatever it is they say just listen, ask your inner child or higher self what they need and when you feel the time is right ask them for permission to release whatever is blocking you from self expression. It may sound silly but it works for many people and if you are the type that just can't imagine doing this there are other ways. This is probably more a need for those who are enduring painful things but the connection with self is so releasing. If you are enduring alot of painful memories I don't suggest you do this without speaking with a therapist first. Did you know if we don't give ourselves permission to be happy we won't be. God already gave us the ability to have all things but sometimes deep within us is a locked door that refuses to open. Take time with yourself be gentle no matter how long it takes and trust that this will come and then wait for the flow. Let your emotions and thoughts come out any way they chose and never judge them.

I also recommend watching the DVD, "The Secret". While it is no secret and has been around for a very long time, it's teaching will transform your thinking and in turn transform your tuning in to what is going on within you. There are many videos in youtube.com that talk about this. EFT is another method I am using to jump start my own healing process.

My prayer is that I may help someone and in doing so not offend...

THis is great hon! THank you for this. YOu really put a lot of caring thought and effort into it. It reflects what a caring, special person you are.

I really related to the part where it says that people who have been abused have trouble letting themselves feel good or experience any happiness or pleasure.

The artwork is phenomenal! WHo did that?

Aww ty you so much for you lovely words! I am honored that you gained anything from what I wrote. I think too we can push ourselves to hard. Being gone from the site for a year and half I had no idea how much I missed writing. My soul almost felt trapt or dead. I had a notion to check on my poems and I picked up a pen and things started pouring out. I didn't know that would happen because I had no thoughts, but they surely were hidden. I wish I had done that months and months ago. I could have saved myself so much misery.

I critique my work harshly too but in the end isn't it more important to express and release inward energy than it is to be a genius at writing (speaking to myself there ) Anyway thank you again you've made my night!
