Each Month there will be one group spotlighted on All Poetry !!
I will interview the owner of the group.
Any ideas for a group that should be spotlighted ?
Please IM me the groups link, and why you think they should be spotlighted.
The First Spotlighted Group For The Year Is :
CONGRATS !!!
1. Who created the group?
GraphicOholics was created by Dove/Alilly. It started out to be a continuation of the AllPoetry graphic class. There were many students that were “hooked” on creating graphics by the time they graduated and wanted to know more, so the idea was born to keep teaching and learning.
2. How did you come up with the groups name?
Well now… They group name was easy; you see when a person gets a taste of creating something from virtual color and shape, well… it’s like an alcoholic needing a fix, it becomes addicting. And it “is” graphics that we teach so the GraphicOholics name was born.
3. What is the purpose/goal of the group?
The purpose of the group is to teach members how to create their own backgrounds for use here at AllPoetry. Many members do` go beyond that point though, all the way into special effects, ding & font texting, graphic imagery and animation, applying techniques in overlays and layers. We even have members making our own group awards, banners and tags, “expertly” I might add, and creating author pages for other AP members.
I am very proud of this group; personally, it has given me a great deal pleasure watching our members grow in the knowledge of graphics and seeing what they create. I have come to the conclusion that graphic art is just one more extension of a poet, creating poetry for the eyes.
4. Are the members overall active?
Like in most groups, some members are not very active, they seem to learn by watching the others create or at least I hope they do. But the ones that are active (which are many) are very active and help to actually run the group, by teaching others what they’ve learned through graphic tutorials and hosting contests that teach as well as just award trophies.
5. How old is the group?
The group was created shortly after the first AllPoetry graphics class became available, around May of 2007.
6.Why do you think members should join the group?
Any AllPoetry member that is interested in making their own backgrounds should join, there is a wealth of knowledge on our threads, free for the asking, and many knowledgeable members to help them learn.
Tell us some good things about your group.
GraphicOholics is comprised of many different backgrounds and talents, teaching with many different graphic programs. If a member has no graphic program to use, we set them up with free internet programs that can really put out some quality work. There is always someone around to answer questions and to help out whenever there is a need. We also have our own classroom chucked full of teaching tutorials, written by our members. One thing though, we are chatty meaning that the group notes are heavily used, mainly with posting new tags and giving out information on graphics and group related contests. We had an issue with that for awhile, some members didn’t want their group notes being bogged down so much soooo… We opened a second sub-group, asking all the quiet members to join that one as well, and then turn off the main groups notes. That way they would only get prevalent group information. We host contests quite a bit, putting to test all the new things that we are learning.
I would like to give special credit to our members, for the group’s development and success, our officers and officials really pitch in and that makes my job a whole lot easier. The main thing is… WE HAVE FUN… Thanks Gang
That’s about all I can think to say, so I say now, let the paintballs fly… pow pow splat splat got ya
Paint, Create & be Merry ~ Dove
On the side note, I am honored to be a member of this group. The graphics that they share in group notes is really amazing, and I like the communication that goes on.
Thank you Dove and officials in the group for all of your hard work!
Background Thanks To Dove

It still amazes me to see their designs and I am very proud of all of you. And all the paintball wars we have are a blast too!
