Dew Drop Chandeliers (Sonnet)

by Passim

Look closely at the early morning dew.
As day awakes it magically appears.
How perfectly it’s formed as if on cue,
to light our dawn with dew drop chandeliers.

Lasting for only moments, then they’re gone.
As sunbeams pause to gaze in wonderment,
in reverence then, they plant their kiss upon
a simple beam of light, though heaven sent.

How can such gentle dew drops then compare
with angry rains that lash in winter's storm?
The elements for each the same are there,
and yet results are opposites in form.

But when at last, the sky of winter clears,
how sweet to see the dew drop chandeliers.

The Ones I Love
by Never Fall In Love

Cascading decadence;
settlement of inferiority
branching out to
establish additional burden.
Memorable encounters,
of brief invisibility,
decorated days to come.
[concealed does not equal disappearance]

Constant examination;
a relentless trial
of qualifications and compatibility
of existence.

I slipped.
Fallen into an abyss of disasters.
Self contemplation.
Self degradation.
Self laceration.

[along came my spiders]
Weaving webs of affection
that strengthened bonds of esteem.
Layer upon layer
of harmony drenched in benevolence.
Composition of metaphorical ladders,
ropes attached, hands stretched forward-
aided baby steps out of
darkness.

Empathy, sympathy, advice, humour,
or just an ear [eyes, I mean]
Contributions to formulating
a life worth living.

Three-worded statements,
                              - I love you's -
do not define my appreciation
of your presence.
[And this won't either]

                                            ... Thank you

Then there is the featured section! A lot of people love this section. It is found on the right hand side on top of the chatterbox.

Phylogenetic Relation
By Amunet Wolfbane

Limpid, he travels the corridors with felid movements,
a high powered being masquerading in human guise.
Once in awe, I stared deep into its transforming flesh,
living for the moments of resurrecting humanity
.

Years pass as the lotus blossoms, cycling lifetimes
as though they were victims of Chinese water torture.
Affections growing to depths only known in dreams,
until manifestation overrides reality’s tainted tethers.

Now starving, I linger for the presence of his splendor
to cascade gently over my being with cool shimmers.
Secure in the knowledge that he too, shall be saved
from implanted mind warps, infringing upon free will.

Sentinels wander aimlessly, forces to inhibit a union
long forged in decades of centuries come and gone.
Aggravated shame of peers, their weapon of choice
but divinity refuses to deny our hearts, again reborn.

Limpid, we travel the corridors with felid movements,
high powered beings masquerading in human guise.
Now in awe, peers stare deep into transformed flesh
waiting to witness the moment we resurrect humanity.

With tears in my eyes and pain in my throat.

Dead House
by : x Empathic Rose x

Dead House

as eerie whispers echo

in haunted houses

creaking floorboards bend

to greed of poltergeist

doors slam shut

gates & chains rattle

as the wind takes heed

to an eerie calling

the dead surround you

Thank You all for each poem that you put up. You never know when your poem could change someone, or touch someone, make them smile, or even give them hope. I look forward to seeing more poems in these sections!

It's refreshing to see somebody who genuinely wants to promote someone else, other than self. You've given these poets another opportunity shine and have provided the site with a unique benefit, by introducing to us poets, we may not have been aware before. I know you must spend a lot of time researching-reading countless poems. I applaud you (would with clappy hands if possible)~

    Selection of poems

The poems selected here are uniformly bald and disingenuous. What is the rationale behind this selection? It's not judicious,I personally feel.
