Cancer scares - Shove it!

Best point out that this has nothing to do with poetry, i've just had a bit to drink and feel like ranting. Be advised, it will probably contain strong language
A hot toppic in national news recently has been reporting that red meat such as bacon can in fact cause cancer. That's usually how the tabloid papers like to word it when they actually mean it gives you a slightly increased risk of getting cancer. Despite this i must ask, so what? The subject has become so ridiculous that there is even talk of putting a limited number of units on such things just as the consumption of alcohol.

Before anyone asks, yes, i did know someone that died of cancer. It makes no difference, i'm still not going to join in with this global hypochondria. YOU ARE GOING TO DIE at some point regardless of how much bacon you eat. It could happen while you are young or old but when it does the bottom line is, when you do die, you're not going to give a rat's arse.

While i do not want to die (as no living creature does despite what they may say/think)i am not afraid of it. All i fear is what i might miss out on, and i fear for those i might leave behind. But your life is pointless if you are going to waste every day of it just trying to avoid death. Pretty much everything is bad for you, so enjoy whatever you like, and above all enjoy LIVING.

If red meat really can highten the risk of cancer, yet despite not knowing it before we've all been living well enough so there's little point in worrying about it now. I'm sure given enough time we'll soon find out that we can get cancer from bread as well. There was also a similar report not too long ago about apple juice also increasing the risk of cancer but nobody remembers that anymore.

So to sum up, we can get cancer simply by having breasts or testicles, so shall we put a limit on how many of those we can each have? No? Then take such pointless discoveries and cram it!
