The Member Of The Month For Nov. Is
Congrats!!!
All about Fairy Nutty Buddy :
1. Where did you grow up? Reedsport, Oregon
2.What is the first thing you remember that perked your interest in writing? My brother-in-law, Jay, committed suicide and I was going through an emotional time. I had a line running through my head, "who is the face that cries for me" over and over again, which prompted me to write my poem with the given name. I then searched out a place to post it on line. I found AP and have been going strong ever since.
3. Did you go to college/university? Yes, SWOCC (Southwestern Oregon Community College) on an academic scholarship. I graduated with an AA degree in Business Administration in 1987.
4. If so, what was your major? Business Administration
5. Outside of college, how have you educated yourself beyond secondary school? After college, I got a job in a one-doctor office doing medical transcription, which I had never done before. It was horrendously stressful and challenging, but I learned a lot there and medical transcription became my career. When I moved to the Seattle, WA area 12 years ago, I got a job working from home doing medical transcription and worked my way up in the company learning most aspects of the business including network administration and office management.
6. What’s your favorite color? RED!
7. Food? I love a lot of food, but cheesecake pops into my head right now.
8. Pastime? Volleyball!
9. Music? All kinds.
10. Poet? There are so many talented ones on AP, but as far as being the most unique in words I enjoy PrabhuDayal Khattar.
11. TV show? Desperate Housewives, King of Queens
12. Movie? I like girlie movies like Hope Floats, City of Angels, While You Were Sleeping, When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle. I could watch those over and over (and I have!).
About Your Life On All Poetry :
1. When did you first begin to write? May 10, 2006.
2. What kind of poetry do you write the most? It goes in stages. First, it was angst and remembering those who have passed, then I wrote a lot of poems about our gaseous nature, and I absolutely love word banks and always seem to write serious poems using word banks, though have written a few funny ones such as my "fluffy fruitcake."
3. Who are your influences? I am not sure, can we skip this question for now?
4. What feeds your desire to continue writing poetry? I just write when I have inspiration. I love contests, as they spur my inspiration, especially word banks.
General :
1. Hobbies? Volleyball, welding, watching TV, and bunny rabbits (lots of them!)
2. Pets? 15 bunny rabbits
3. Talents? Oh boy… lots of them, I'm sure… volleyball, web page/newsletter design, computer support, poetry, welding weird art, landscape design/maintenance, efficiency, transcription, versatility, ability to inspire people in whatever they are doing, ability to train people at whatever level they are… I'm sure I have many, many more (we all do!).
4. Jobs? Fish cleaner for a charter boat my dad ran (age 9 – boy did I get the tips from "old people"!), newspaper route, litter patrol, Safeway while in high school and college, medical transcriptionist, help desk, office manager (for medical transcription company), office manager for our own landscaping business.
5. What advice would you give to growing poets? Give yourself time and room to grow. Don't be too stressed about getting things "right" and just "write." If you do, you will find yourself writing something that amazes even you and it will be exciting. Write about whatever you want to write about, whatever inspires you.
Example of her poetry :
© Fairy Nutty Buddy
Wizards whisper in the night
You crouch and shiver with fright
Witches and Warlocks gather 'round
Goblins and Ghosts move in to surround
This is a night to celebrate terror
Be careful now, no room for error
One little slip and you'll be dead
You may even lose your head
As the Horseman comes calling
In fright you'll be crawling
Praying for mercy upon your soul
Hallow's Eve will take it's toll
If you chance to make it through
To touch the silky morning dew
Enjoy your year free from fear
Before next Hallow's Eve draws hauntingly near
If you would like for someone to be member of the month please send me a im of why you think that they should become one and link to their bio page.

It is always good to read of people being honored for their standing in the community. Well done

I NEVER check the columns but today I did...you trapped me (that other voice whispered huh?)

cries really hard because that's so special!! HOORAY!

, and then I end up discovering others by pure chance. I sure wish I could read them all and give all the accolades so well deserved by so many. The technology of the internet sure has broadened our horizons [of course it has its disadvantages as well], but I consider myself old and wise enough to stay away from that which smells like trouble and try hard to educate our kids. But I guess the net is like everything else....the good comes with the bad and vice versa
