The ode, history and life of a wonderful and aspiring poetess ~ Karamel Kandy.
Inside the curl
of fading winters mists,
she birthed ,
in summer
mistrals that came
from cupped hands
of the potter
and she rose as sun
around our horizons
when poets sang
their eternal songs
and placed
her soul
across poetic pedestals
to bless her essence
inside desire
of seasons
that blossomed in march
and brought to us
this cottoned
bundle.
~ Asfand.
Born of World Poetry Day, 21st March, 1994, it is no surprise that this young, 13-year-old girl should have interest in poetry. Namita Krishnamurthy is an aspiring poetess whose poetry is defined as her own voice. Her words burn as the embers scattered across life’s image and she is a divine lady, a wonderful soul and a best friend.
Her pen opens up the realities of love, be they bitter longing or the expressions a bird’s migration. She sketches such beautiful words, which are soft and luscious in feelind and evoke beautiful, serene and passionate moments in the reader’s eyes.
Namita was born at Mothalakkudam in India, and is the Indian Gem of poetry.
Unlike any young poetess of her generation, she is not dangling across the peripheries of cliché and common poetry, but she writes better than most poets that are adorned with experience.
She is both ambitious and passionate and being so, she desires to become a professional poets, but her lust in not in seeking fame, but in letting her voice echo inside the hearts of people around the world. Her poetry itself is music to the ears, such music that sweeps man off to heaven and similarly, she is drawn to music.
Namita enjoys playing the guitar, piano and singing. Her flamboyant personality and humorous phrases are a contradiction to her poems, which leave all the cuteness behind and thrill both soul and body of the reader.
Her tastes are explicitly divine and royal. She enjoys the spiced Indian cuisines, Thai food and the salty Chinese specialties.
Writing literature a lot, she also enjoys the works of many beautiful authors and their pieces, including Dan Brown, Rowling and Paulo Coelho, Agatha Christy and Sidney Sheldon.
Despite poetry being known to ignorant people as ‘old-fashioned’, this poetess has such modern and hip-hop musical favorites that include the phenomenon song-artist Avril Lavigne, Shakira, Duff and the rock-artist band Linkin Park.
Namita is very witty soul, she loves to laugh and has a unique view on life that is both philosophical and soulful. Here are three of her favorite quotes, that reflect her reviews on life, and her humor-loving eye ~
"Poetry is not profession, it is destiny."
"A miracle is how the dumb man told the deaf man how the blind man saw the lame man walking on the water"
"Insanity is hereditary. You get it from your children"
This poetic persona has a hereditary liking of this sacred art of verbs. Her mother is an ardent readers and his brother – a skilled and dedicated Malayalam poet. She has always been drawn to it and began writing when she was only seven years old.
She tried her hand at the fascinating rhyme and meter form and got her first poem published in a local newspaper just at the age of eleven. Her poetry has taken shape, throughout her experience. It differs from rhyming to free verse and wavers between the two.
She has taken great criticism and construction by Richard and Tyler, both extremely talented poets.
“to be able to learn from suggestions and tips so easily, is a miracle.” ~ Tyler.
Till her breakthrough published poem, she has gone to taming her nectarous lust for writing and has begun publishing her poetry an international site where she is greatly recognized as one of the most talented poets.

Her inspiration is her brother, the Malayalam poet that reflects his insight inside the soul of her words.
Namita is a sincere and beauteous lady, when asked which poems she classifies as her favorite, her dear reply came out to be ~ “Every word, every single sound is written somewhere, however simple it is, it is poetry; and I love poetry. Every piece is beautiful in its own way.”
She says poetry maybe unique, common, simply yet masterfully crafted, complicated yet soft and sweet, but every word of it is beautiful.
Her likes reflect courtesy and virtue, and her favorite colors include the feminine-hues of pink and the calm and tranquil shades of blue.
War, she says is a man, and that man is a monster and is evil and shall take over this world and it’s beauty if something is not done. Her views on racism are even more remarkable ~
As her favorite quote goes ~ “Man is to be judged by the color of his sins, and not by the color of his skin.”
She would be martyred to the finish, as her favorite country is in her words, “Bharat mera desh!” meaning “India my country!”
In an interview, she says to all the young and new poets ~
“Poetry is not just about big words or rhyme, it is about emotion. It is about the feeling, the images you create in a reader's mind, and mostly poetry is love. Whatever you write, it begins from love. Write from your heart, listen to it, and then you'll just realize; wow. Everyone's a poet.”
Souls meet footfall
into fire
and clouded is sweetened birth
of flowering
petals that blossom
inside the sigh
of her voice
and she trembles
inside faith and enmity
and cries
to dew our heather
and cowers
inside pink pillows
to stain it
with affection.

Talent personified (both of you)
My eldest son's birthday is the 24th March and I have a very special affinity for people born in that time of year. The two of you simply amaze me - each and every time. I think I have told countless people here on AP (and at my work) about these two talented and beautiful poets. It is an honour for me to have crossed paths and poetry with you.
At 13 Namita is truly blessed with the gift of poetry and you, my young friend, are equally blessed and talented. I can only sit here and admire this piece of writing and the life that you've unfolded here like the petals of a lotus flower, sighs of the deep heart that has the fragrance of talent...of poetry.
I salute you both - you are both so very special
