Make sure you've read the Amazing Race Introduction, or this won't make sense.

Shall we get started? I say we do. I will be judging the first leg solo, just to get things started. I am going to me trying my best to critique, and look your poems over with aspects I think important; grammar, title, line-break and/or form, fluency, emotion, originality, topic, phrasing and poetic devices, but especially how well you do with the required task. These will heavily impact how fast you are going for your overall score (remember, you can get 100m/hr at the most).

Now lets get started. Remember, I am posting the Detour now, and once it is completed and its link is posted as a comment below, I will IM the road-block task, but please keep in confidential. Also, since today is July 17th, all tasks (including Ryan's Road) are due by Midnight of July 26th. If you really need an extension, please let me know and state your reason.

Detour: (Choice between two tasks).
SUTTLE or STRONG.
In Suttle, your groups challenge is to use any kind of metaphor to portray an emotion. Make sure you used different aspects of the metaphor (ex: a lamp; the light, the bulb, the switch can all portray different things or events of the emotion). Your poem must be 15 - 25 lines long.
In Strong, your task is to write a rant, convincing me of your strong emotional feelings toward an issues. Make this really strong and convincing. Inspire me to change me opinions or feelings if I felt a certain way before. Your poem must be 25 lines or more.

oh, and of course --

Ryan's Road: (Bonus task, optional).
Partners, your mission, if you choose to except it, is you write about your status that you created with your partner. Be creative. Any line legnth. Remember IM the links of the poems to me, the due date is the same as the overall due date. Best poem overall will get an addition 25m/hr, and second best overall will get an additional 10m/hr.
