The twenty of you are competing for a shot at the overall prize, which includes many beautiful trophies, and a cash in of wonderful AP points, also, individual points and trophies at the end of every leg! But most of all the twenty of you are here to have fun and enjoy this with your partners and support collabs on the site.
I frist intended to have 8 Legs (Rounds) in this game, with each leg lasting a week, but have decided to have 7 legs, so each leg can last a week and three days, so we will go over my intended 2 month limitation for the contest, but trust me, your gonna want those extra 3 days.
I hope your up for dedication, because this game is gonna a lot of it to your partners and to writing yourself. But, if my over line out line of the game isn't working out, is too much to ask for, I will completely reform it, I promise
Just let it try out for 2 legs and we'll see how its working.So anyways, how exactly does it work? I'm sure you've all been dying to find out. Each leg, the teams will have to write two poems; a detour and a roadblock. None of these tasks will be too challenging, since you have 10 days to write them with one other person, but I feel they will be just the right difficulty level.
Detour;
A choice between two tasks. Your usually the two tasks require different strengths, so chose skillfully.
Roadblock;
A task with no options, usually a little bit more difficult then the detour.
The fun thing about this contest is that I am scoring the submitted poems in different ways, on speeds. I will mark your poem out of a total of 100m/hr, in your comments I will dictate more on how you got points and lost points. The thing is, the detour will be posted on a column, and after you submit your link for the detour, I will IM you the roadblock challenge, be sure to keep them a secret from the other teams. If you balance this right, you can have 5 days to write the detour poem and 5 days to write the roadblock, but it will also depend on when you submit your detour. I find it will just make it a little more interesting. I will be marking your poems as we go, and with the two tasks together you can get a grand total of 200m/hr, plus, I intend to try to have guest judges most or some of the rounds, if I do, you can have up to an additional 200, for a grand total of 400m/hr on guest judge. BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE. Every round there will also be a side challenge, worth an extra 25 m/hr or 10m/hr. It can be tempting if you don't feel confident about your poems. But, you may not have time for them. If you do decide to submit them, IM the links to me. The one I felt best will win an additional 25m/hr and the one I liked second best will recieve an additional 10m/hr. This task is called Ryan's Road. It is OPTIONAL. Just a catch.
With all that said, I know, this is A LOT of dedication, I probably should've let you guys know before... but the thing is I just thought of it recently. And really, we don't have to do it, I just want to try it out for 2 rounds and if its really not working I will change it.
I have an Amazing Race Group to communicate and I can send links through group IMs (so keep them open.) How you shall decide to do your teams collabs is strictly up to you. But once I open the group, I will be starting a thread for each group, to communicate in or use for whatever they want. I will post the link to the group here when I get it.
Leg one will be up very shortly. I will post the link here and IM you.
With that said, let the Amazing Race begin!
