Tammy Knott

Have you ever wondered who that mysterious, lovely, caring, mystical Cherokee princess is that you chat with but never had time to check out her author page cause it is just fill with so much beauty you need a whole day to process it. Well your wish is my command.

Just Check me out

I am a single mother of a beautiful little girl named Ashley. I am 33 years of age and I write; Poetry, editorials, articles on religion and children, and stories. I published my first book in July 07 which you can purchase from Publish America or Barnes and Noble Cherokee Wisdom Lives on Through Our Words. You can view my poetry, columns, and stories at Storywrite  as well as learn more about me and my heritage through my site Spirit_Cherokee . My inspirations for my writing are my daughter, family, God and the traumatic childhood I had. I am a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and an activist in raising awareness of this horrible crime against the innocence of children.

I have been a single mother for 12 years, the best work and most rewarding job I have ever had; I also worked for the Department of Child Support Enforcement as a support enforcement specialist, the Council for Exceptional Children. A non profit organization that advocates for better education polices for the exceptionally diverse student population; and, Mental Health America as a consultant doing some data entry and cleaning databases. My volunteering jobs include working for Arlington Housing Corporation, which provides low income housing grants and home improvement grants to low income families in the Arlington area; and, Arlington public schools where I helped out in the ED center in an administrative assistant capacity. Can you detect a running theme here J. I recently, as of last week, accepted a position as coordinator, administrative with Mental Health America. I work in the HR/Finance department.

In an effort to continually educate and better myself, I completed my first degree an Associates in business. Now I am pursuing a  Bachelors in Business Administration. I also have plans to start my own foundation (Family and Community Ties) Freewebs, plug, and want to obtain my masters in Early Childhood education as well as a doctorate in Early Childhood Psychology. I am hopeful that having a degree will afford me better job opportunities so that I can continue to provide for my family until I complete my education goals and start working on my foundation in earnest.

I am eager to meet new people who share my interests or offer me new insight on other cultures and beliefs. You can contact me at any of the following: tkn287@aol.com, little_feather_is_cherokee@yahoo.com, lilfeathercherokee@hotmail.com and lilfeather@allpoetry.com where I am the Greeter Coordinator.

    Dear Tammy

It shocked me to realise that I did not have you as one of my favourites. I am most certainly, when time is on hand, to revisit your page. I see that you have an interest in the social sciences - that strengthens the bridge between us. Will want to do some further talking about what you etc. Thanks for pointing me to your page. Be blessed. Frans

The AP logo is my own design lol. I wish Kevin had of used it for the new logo, but I do love the backdrop he has behind the new logo. And thanks in regards to the book.

    Still much more to come!

I am one of those who took a "whole day" (it really does not take quite that long) to process your author page and found the experience enlightening. In addition to being a "mysterious, lovely, caring mystical Cherokee princess", I have learned a lot from you.
You LilFeatherCherokee, are a hard worker. You have a lot on the go and seem to be ever advancing new ideas and projects. I have experienced the caring side of you as have many who have come into your sphere of influence. It is good that you posted your bio here, but as the saying goes "it is only the tip of the iceberg"!
So glad to have come to know you even a little bit here at AP. You are a leading light. Jadon

      You are soo sweet

I try to live everyday as God would have me. Though some days I fail miserably. It is nice to know somewhere I have not failed.

I wouldn't even mention it ("some days I fail miserably"). as we all do. My knees are plenty 'skinned' (falling) from days where I messed up big time. Like yourself though it does not stop me from trying and as long as we are trying to head in the right direction we can say we are making progress
