Its not a flipping game!!!!

I was told today that I did not understand the game of life. Maybe it is that I do not see life as a game. I see it as a journey with choices and consequences. I see that in the end you answer to yourself and God, no one else. Life isn't about the reputation you have and its not about the people you protect. Its about you! Your morals, values, beliefs and whether you have the integrity to stand for them when everyone else is on the other side of the fence. Its about what you do when you know someone is doing wrong... do you protect him or her for fear of your life or do you stand firm even in the face of danger? That is life to me.
In life there are True Friends, Loyal Friends, Best Friends, Good Friends and people you know. It was once said that "A loyal friend will bail you out but a true friend will be in there with you." I do not believe this to be when it comes to the true friend. I believe that role is better left to the Best Friend. A true friend will be looking out for His/Her friend and do His/Her best to avoid the trouble. He/She will also be able to get the two of them out of trouble or post the bail. A true friend will also know when to cut the rope and let the other deal on his/her own when the time is right. A true friend is a combination of the three and along this road of life, the true friends are few and far between. Many times your safest bet is to rely on yourself and trust no one else. Never reveal all about yourself until you are sure you can trust this person. Never get emotionally attached when trying to help some one. Always be ready & able to cut and run. Never get to close and never let your emotions lead the way.
