Three forty-five finally came and the last bell rang. The long school day had finally ended, but i had wrestling practice after school. Coach Shields was already upset with me because I had forgotten about practice that morning. I wasn't about to stay on his bad side, so I worked hard for the two hours during practice. By the end of it, I was so exhausted I nearly collapsed where I stood. When I got home I fell face first onto the living room couch and just laid there for half an hour.
I finally mustered up the motive to get up and take a shower. When I got out after standing in the heated water until it started to get cold I drug myself to the medicine cabinet for the pain relievers. I inched my way to my room form the pain running through out my aching body. I finally reached my bed and plopped down.
The next thin I hear is, "What's your problem?" It was my mother.
"Oh, I'm sorry, am i visible again? Or do you need me to leave so you can tell your date that you don't have any children and that this room is for your favorite niece?!? I snapped viciously.
"Don't get smart with me young lady!"
"Give me a reason not to!"
"I'm your mother, that's why!"
"Great parenting skills, let me tell you about it."
"How dare you?!"
"How dare I?! How dare I?! No, No, No, No, No, how dare YOU...I finally have something for you to be proud of and I don't even get a 'Good job' or a 'I'm so proud of you'. But no, you don't give a damn!. so no, not how dare I, it's more like how dare you!" I ignored the pain coming from my aching body and pushed myself off my bed to look at the beast in the eyes.
"Sit back down you ungrateful demon which the law requires me to cloth, feed, and shelter until the day you turn 18!"
"Well Mommy Dearest, thank heaven we only have a little over a year!"
"Well lets see if you make it."
"Are you threatening me?"
"More like promising sweet child of mine," she said as she pulled out a nine millimeter form her purse. I dove for my pillow and pulled out my twenty-two.
"Looks like we both have our dirty little secrets," I said as I unlocked the safety. "You see, not only do I know how to disarm you like nothing, but i also know how to shoot, Compliments of Papa."
"You're bluffing."
"Nope, do you remember how you would sand me to Nana and Papa's house over the summer? Well Papa had every gun made under the sun and taught me how to shoot with all of them. I can go from shooting a M-14 to a 45 in a split second. So as far as bluffing, I don't think so."
"You were a mistake."
"It's the story of my life. I'm just so ungrateful! It's all I ever hear any more and I'm sick of it!"
"It's the cards we were Dealt, live with it!"
"You make me sick," I turned Down the hall and slammed the door when I got to my room. I had to fight my instinct to cut and shove off all thoughts of murdering 'Her. I sat down by my bed and punched the feeling out of my leg until those desires went away.
Okay loves...I have finished this chapter to the "book" 'A Rose in the Rain...I'm in the hospital getting my chemo rigth now so wish me luck!
