my lady tara

news about my labrador-lady tara's surgery
and update about her present condition ...
tuesday, august 15th 2006

I wish to thank all of you who have supported my labrador-lady tara and my family with prayers and healing thoughts.
she has undergone emergency surgery yesterday morning, where her ovaries and infected uterus which had 4 liters (1 gallon) of pus inside, were removed in an operation which lasted 3 hours. she had developed a so-called pyometra due to a hormonal imbalance and complications in her reproductive system.
we took her home yesterday evening and she has spent a quite peaceful night. this morning, she had some energy and could go for a small walk and was able to drink and eat a little bit and release her bladder. this is a good sign so far.
we still have to watch out for the usual complications which may occur due to the removal of such an enormeous mass of organic tissue (her uterus was as big as a car-tire). she also lost a lot of blood and there is also a risk of post-surgery infection and bleeding.
but she would have certainly died without this surgery. so there was no choice.

tara has received and is still receiving lots of reiki-healing, which certainly supports her own natural healing-capacity. I will continue to send healing to her as long as it is necessary.

thank you so much for your loving presence.
much love to you all,

maa

dear poetess gwenevere allpoetry.com/poets/Gwenevere
has offered us this most beautiful prayer which touches me so much:

Kneel with her this evening and stroke her lovely fur
Whisper how you love her and just how much you care
She will grow much stronger she'll look towards your voice
See the healing happen and then you can rejoice

She will feel the power so gently touch her soul
Prayers that have been answered will make your Lady whole
Hold her very gently and let the process start
Tara will get better with healing from the heart

may those blessings be returned to you a thousandfold, dear one.

I can hardly tell you how much you all have touched me through your kind words of consolation, faith and encouragement. it is like bathing in love and light for tara and myself. may you all receive abundant blessings for your infinite kindness and generosity of your hearts.

yesterday, tara went for some little walks, slept a lot in the early afternoon under the olive tree in our garden - together with our other dog, my husband and myself ... something we have never done before ... and accepted to eat a tiny bit. yet she refuses all meats - which we had proposed to her after all, although she has been vegetarian all of her life ... (yes, this dog doesn't like meat ! )...
so, when all the children of our neighbourhood came over to see tara (and there's a lot of them ), they all shared some sort of wafers with her which one of the ladies had made for them. tara enjoyed this very much.
her temperature had descended quite a lot, which made us a bit concerned about a post-surgery shock she may experience, so I checked on her a lot during the night, and she received much reiki too.
this morning, she could already jump into the car and on her walk, she asked for a wooden stick to be thrown, so she may retrieve it ... all this with a very loud and powerful bark !!!
she doesn't leave my side, and almost behaves like a small puppy ...
I guess it is a hormonal reaction to all this.
she is wrapped up like a saussage from her chest to her hip, but very beautiful nevertheless ... this afternoon, she will meet the vet.
by the way, this vet-lady is certainly an angel, because all the vets in town had left for the long weekend of the 15th of august (blessed virgin mary's celebration ... and my name-day too ... ), and this wonderful young lady-veterinarian replaced our usual vet and stayed available day and night for us and all the other animals who needed care. she has so much love in her heart for the animals, that she put aside her own needs and desires (for being with her own family), and offered herself entirely to all. may doctor caroline be blessed abundantly ...

much, much, much love to all of you wonderful poet-angels ...

I believe that your prayers and kind thoughts have truly speeded up the healing and recovery-process of lady tara.
thank you sooo much !
she seems to do quite well now, even the vet, doctor caroline, has been happily surprised yesterday when she saw her ! she said that it was because of the reiki I had sent them for the surgery ...
how sweet and humble she is ...
tara's favorite food right now, are homemade pancakes and eggs !
she won't touch anything else.
no way to make her eat meat ...
yes, I guess angels don't eat meat, do they ?
she's getting stronger all the time.
I am soooo happy.
we are even closer now.

last night was a bit difficult for everyone, as tara's heart was beating like crazy and she was breathing really fast for many hours. my husband wanted to call the vet, as he was afraid that she had an internal haemorrhage, his greatest concern ... but I sat next to her, doing reiki and putting a wet and cold tissue on her belly which was quite hot. soon, her breathing became calmer, and she lay down in the entry-hall. I got my pillow and blanket and slept next to her the whole night, making sure she was fine. there was also a heavy thunderstorm last night, she might have been scared ...
I hardly slept and had some strange dreams : the divine mother manifesting inside tara's body and looking at me. I asked Her : "Mother, please tell me the truth, is this a serious condition ?" and She answered calmly and softly : "Keep on praying." (I actually dreamt in english language ). so I prayed to the Divine Mother that She, Herself may be well ...
at around 5 am, tara woke me up gently, licking my face for a long time. she had certainly understood what had happened ...
then, she went to the kitchen and asked for all kinds of food : hazelnuts, doggy-biscuits, eggs, honey and pancakes ... ...
hubby and myself had some herbal tea and around 6.30h, we all went for a walk in the wonderfully perfumed forest after the nightly rain.
tara was finally able to release her bowels after more or less a week, and it made her feel much better. she ran a bit, played with her sister malka and a wooden stick, and each time, pulling it, tara would win. she was stronger than malka !
well, these are some cute little stories I felt like sharing with you.

saturday, august 19th 2006

tara's condition seems better each day, and her appetite is as ferocious as before ... she's back "hunting" pancakes, rice and lentils ... her favorite food at the moment. her intestins seem to be very grateful for this treat as well ...
her wound is healing quite nicely, I saw it today at the vet, but there is some lymphatic liquid running out of it, maybe an allergy to the threads, but the vet says it's okay. no bleeding, and no complications until now ... thanks to all of your prayers !!!
she is still walking a bit slowly and takes it easy ...
me too ...

much love to all of you,
and a big lick on your noses from tara,

marion

tara is just doing great ...
although she developped an abscess around one of the threads, we were able to make it regress with the application of lavender-essential-oil. by the way, I can only recommend this magical remedy, we use it for all kinds of wounds which heal very quickly with lavender-oil. it also desinfects the wound in a natural and non-toxic way. even the vet-lady was in awe ...
tomorrow, the threads will be pulled out of her scar, and she should be fine ...

a big hug to you all, my precious friends,

marion

    dearest linda,
I am pleased to hear that you have a precious doggy next to you as well ... stella ... a star ... and tara means star too in sanskrit !!!
two stars for two star-children on a little holiday on earth ...
thank you so much for your kind words and your prayers, I am very happy about your visit here on tara's page ...
by the way, she must have received your thoughts, because we were just outside in the garden, tara, malka, jean-marc and myself. and guess what we were doing ? ... eating pancakes again !!! a huge and thick one for each family-member ...
and then, tara lay down and malka lay with her back along tara's belly, to give her energy. she never did this before. how sweet of her ...
funny, I had put some healing crystals on both of my dogs' collar necklaces, and today, they both fell off at the same moment at a different place of the house. I guess they don't like crystals as much as I do ...
the birds love them, and always lay down on them or play with them, but the doggies always lose the crystal-pendants I make for them. so now, no more crystals. and more pancakes instead

    dear auntie belle,
thank you for the kiss on tara's nose, which she appreciates very, very much ... yesterday, I read all the names of those who had sent loving messages to tara aloud to her, and she listened very attentively, lying under the olive tree, wagging her tail. then, when I said "ma belle", she sat up and waited with big eyes what I had to tell her ...
    strange, isn't it ?
tara doesn't really seem like a dog or animal, in general, she is so wise and compassionate, it is amazing.
I love you so much, annabelle.

    dear ros,
thank you very heartly for your reassurance that tara is now where she belongs to ... it is very comforting to know that she is home with us. I couldn't stand it not being with her during surgery. but the vet was quite cool, allowing us to peak in from time to time during the period while she recuperated from anestesia. so tara knew we were near ...
    what an emotion ...
even for my husband, who is not very emotional, in general ...

glad you liked my t-shirt. I recuperated it from my hubby. I actually recuperate a lot of his old clothes which he doesn't wear any more ... before, I did this with my mum ... I guess it's because of the love that is trapped inside their clothes. like this, I have it with me all the time ... I'm like a little baby ...

    Dear Sis,

I'm so sorry to hear of all the pain that you are in, please cheer up a bit and don't look so sad, my dear Sis. She will be fine. Sometimes The Master really takes our test. I guess it is a way of the universe to help us understand many facts of life and believe in Him. Tara is adorable. I will pray for her this evening in my puja room looking at the Tara you made and sent me. If I knew how to give and send Reiki, I would have sent it to Tara. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. May God help Tara heal quickly.

    Hugs,
    Chari

P.S. I had the same top like the one you have on(white with black stripes) that I bought 4 years back in US for my birthday. Don't have it anymore, I gave it to a poor person who needed clothes...Miss your joyful spirit.

I cried so much after having to leave her with the vet, and knowing what she had to go through, that nothing would console me. even our other dog seemed depressed, sleeping the whole morning, which she rarely does. maybe she was with tara in spirit during surgery.

She'll be ok. She's in our prayers. I can understand what you're going through. I really can. It's toughest for you. Happened to my dog last year. I did not have the courage to leave him alone with the vet. When I did, I kept crying till they came and said he was ok. It's going to work out all fine.
